Why flaxseed oil
Flaxseed oil, with about 50% alpha-linolenic acid / omega 3, is one of the most potent suppliers of this important fatty acid.
Fresh linseed oil is a true delicacy and tastes heavenly. Cédric Wüthrich from the Berne Oil Mill squeezes the linseed oil from Swiss organic flaxseed fresh and in raw food quality.
Linseed oil goes perfectly with lettuce, muesli or can be enjoyed simply (daily 1 tablespoon).
Shelf life after pressing is 3 months. Please always keep the linseed oil in the refrigerator, even before the first opening of the bottle. This slows down the very fast oxidation of linseed oil.
Once opened, you should consume the bottle within 3-4 weeks.
Linseed oil and camelina oil are not the same. While linseed oil is pressed from flaxseed, the camelina oil comes from the camelina. Camelina oil is longer lasting, but with about 35% has a lower content of alpha-linolenic acid / omega 3.
Note: Cold-pressed oils (except for coconut oil) are sensitive to heat and are therefore mainly suitable for use in the cold kitchen. When strongly heated, e.g. roasted, poisonous compounds can arise.
Producer: Cédric Wüthrich from the Bernese oil mill produces high-quality oils, certified according to Swiss Organic Ordinance CH-BIO-086 and in raw food quality.
