Hemp flour - 30% complete proteins
For thousands of years, hemp has been one of nature's most versatile plants. Hemp seeds are rich in easily digestible protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, fiber and lecithin in perfect balance for our body.
Hemp flour is obtained from hemp seeds after oil pressing, which are then finely ground. It contains approx. 30% vegetable protein with all essential amino acids and is therefore a complete source of protein that provides all the vital protein building blocks that the body cannot produce itself.
The proteins in edible hemp have a high biological value, as they are very similar to human protein and can be easily absorbed and digested by the body.
Hemp flour is very rich in fiber (40%), tastes tart and nutty and is also a good supplier of essential fatty acids. It is gluten and lactose free.
Hemp flour is an ideal part of a healthy diet and is therefore often used by athletes, vegetarians and vegans.
Why is hemp flour healthy
Hemp seeds are a wonderful gift from nature. Not only are they one of the most nutritious foods on the planet, they are also the most environmentally friendly food ever! Hemp grows easily anywhere, does not require pesticides or herbicides and is suitable for the production of almost everything we need in our modern society such as clothing, paper, biodegradable plastic, fuel, cars, building insulation, etc.
The proteins edestin (65%) and albumin (35%) found in hemp have a molecular structure that is very similar to human proteins and can therefore be used particularly easily by the body. This is how hemp proteins, for example, can be easily converted into immune system immunoglobulins that help protect us from infections.
The biological value of the hemp protein is comparable to whole protein or meat, but free of cholesterol and unhealthy trans-fatty acids!
SamaraNatura hemp flour
SamaraNatura hemp seeds come from controlled organic cultivation. They are obtained from legal, officially approved cultivars that are cultivated organically in Austria.
The hemp flour is obtained from cold-pressed hemp seeds after oil pressing, which are then finely ground.
Use of hemp flour
Mix 1 to 3 tablespoons per day in juice, smoothie, rice milk or muesli as required. This corresponds to a quantity of approx. 3 - 8 g of pure protein.
Hemp flour can be mixed well in whole grain breads and baked goods (approx. 10% or 100g per 1kg), gives a nutty-tart taste and gives the bread an olive green colour.

Is hemp flour gluten free?
According to the law, a product may be labeled "gluten-free" if it has a gluten content of no more than 20 mg per kg. This is easily the case with hemp flour and all other hemp products, because hemp is basically gluten-free.
However, there are several reasons why hemp flour can still contain traces of gluten:
- The combine harvester with which the hemp seeds are harvested usually also threshes other plants such as corn or grain. There are always some residues from previous harvests stuck in the cracks of the machine. Unfortunately, depending on how the combine harvester is used, there could also be leftover wheat.
- In principle, the farmer only plants hemp in the hemp field. However, the open field cannot be shielded against plants that get into the hemp field with the wind and also grow in the following year.
