Due to the change in demand, we offer cocoa paste Criollo only as chips. These chips (also called thalers, coins, drops) have the same quality as the previously offered fractions and are also made from cocoa beans of the noble variety Criollo from Peru. The cocoa paste chips are due to the always same size much easier in the application / dosage and are also suitable as a sugar-free chocolate substitute.

Our cocoa paste is obtained from the noble cocoa variety Criollo, which is cultivated in Peru under semi-wild conditions, by finely grinding the beans. Cocoa paste (also known as cocoa liquor) thus contains all the components of the cocoa bean.

The very gentle processing preserves vitamins, minerals, enzymes and countless other substances, thus enabling optimal absorption by the body. Raw cacao contains an abundance of antioxidants and the combination of serotonin, dopamine, anandamide and phenetylamine (PEA) has a mood-lifting effect and creates in us feelings of well-being and joy. Cocoa is also rich in magnesium.

Cocoa paste tastes less bitter than cocoa powder because, like cocoa chips, it still contains the entire proportion of cocoa butter (about 55%).

Our cocoa paste is in raw food quality and comes from the noble cocoa variety Criollo from Peru, which is one of the rarest and best varieties in the world. Our fine flavoured cocoa is cultivated without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

Fine flavoured cocoa varieties account for only 5-10% of the world's cocoa production. They grow under similar, often almost natural conditions, as they do not tolerate direct sun and thrive alongside other tall rainforest trees. Industrial cocoa Forastero, on the other hand, is usually grown in monoculture plantations.

As the name implies, fine flavoured cocoa tastes better, finer and less bitter than consumer cocoa. Criollo cocoa beans are lightly fermented and thus develop more of their typical cocoa aroma.
