Swiss Sea Buckthorne Syrup - from Europe's most vitamin C-rich berry

Harvested from wild sea buckthorn shrubs in the Swiss Alps

The orange berries of the sea buckthorn shrub, which are collected in the remote Swiss mountain valleys, attract great attention from experts. The vital substance content is very high, in particular of vitamin C. The vitamin C content was repeatedly tested by the manufacturer in Swiss test laboratories. These resulted in vitamin C values of 18,000 to 22,000 mg / kg of juice. Common values of good plantain varieties are 3000 to 5000 mg / kg of juice. This is 36 to 44 times more than that of fresh orange juice. The richness of its entire ingredients is unmatched. More than 12 vitamins: A, B, C, E, F, H, P, PP, glycosides, flavonoids, saponins, omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids, fruit acids and mineral Trace elements are contained in mature mulberry trees. Vitamin C is most effective in natural combination with other vital substances. Sea buckthorn juice also contains Sea buckthorn fruit oil.

Swiss sea buckthorn syrup in raw food quality

The whole berries are very gently pressed at low temperatures. The very high acid content - due to the high vitamin C content - and the clean processing allow the juice not to be pasteurized and to last for at least 6 months. This keeps all vital substances. The juice is very refreshing due to the vitamin C content and its powerful Sea buckthorn aroma. The high vitamin P content supports the stability and uptake of vitamin C.

The harvest and processing of the sea buckthorn berries

The berries which grow wildly at about 1000 meters above sea level are harvested by Margrit and Adolf Hartmann by hand in an impassable area in the Valais and the Grisons Oberland. Compared to cultivated plants these berries are smaller, but they are more vitamin rich. Harvest time is between August and October. With electric scissors, the berries are thrown together with the thorny branches and put into big jute bags. The two donkeys "Fiona" and "Meli" help to carry the heavy bags into the valley. The whole processing of the Sea buckthorn berries happens on the farm of the spouses Hartmann in Trans in Domleschg.

Sea-buckthorn syrup or juice

In contrast to the original juice, which is completely unsatisfactory and very acidic due to the very high vitamin C content, the sea buckthorn syrup is nicely sweetened with fructose and Birnel. The proportion of sea buckthorn fruit in the syrup is still 60%.

Note: The berries are wild fruits and come without pesticides and agrochemicals. Due to the very large harvesting area, however, an organic certification can not be financed.

Use of the swiss sea buckthorn syrup

Sea buckthorn syrup tastes best as an addition to water, tea, yogurt, muesli and desserts. Depending on your personal need, take 1 to 5 tablespoons daily.
