Ingredients of ‘My Perfect Morning’
Flaxseed, crushed - the most important ingredient of ‘My Perfect Morning’ - rich in fibre and healthy fats, in particular omega-3 fatty acids, which promotes growth and tissue regeneration, is highly anti-inflammatory and protects the skin from external damage. Flax seeds have a positive impact in the mood and allows for a better physical performance, which is made possible due to the high amounts of (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) present in the Omega 3 fatty acids.
Buckwheat flakes - gluten-free grain with many important enzymes, high-fibre, very low-fat, contains high-quality protein and 8 essential amino acids, prevents the formation of chronic inflammation processes, improves the effect of vitamin C as an antioxidant, has a high proportion of manganese as well as significantly amounts of copper, magnesium and phosphorus.
Millet flakes - gluten-free grain, very rich in minerals and trace elements (iron, silicon, magnesium), important for bone formation, very important for oxygen transport and energy production; also helps against chronic fatigue and has a high antioxidant capacity. Silica is well known to help beautify the skin, hair and nails (silica increases the tightness of the connective tissue).
Coconut blossom sugar – it has a low Glucose Index, and ensures a uniform increase in the blood glucose level, contains the fibre inulin that slows the glucose uptake. This results in long lasting energy. It contains omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B2 (important for muscle growth) as well as all 10 essential amino acids, as well as magnesium, iron and vitamin E.
Chia seeds – it has the capacity to slow down the conversion of carbohydrates into sugars which translates into increased endurance. It also contains omega 3 fatty acids, calcium (10 times as much as milk!), protein and potassium, has high fibre content and low carbohydrate content. Chia seeds can absorb and store a lot of water which is important for endurance athletes, as this leads long lasting hydration and a feeling of satiation.
Amaranth Pops is a gluten-free "grain", and contains omega-3 fatty acids, is very high in protein and is rich in lysine (important amino acid - involved in protein synthesis), manganese and potassium, and also contains significant amounts of magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. All this makes amaranth an important food for the muscle and bone structures.
Goji berries - one of the healthiest berries in the world, rich in vitamin A, C and E, iron, selenium and trace elements. Its polysaccharides increase muscular performance, help reduce lactic acid and reduce oxidative stress –which results in more muscle strength and better endurance.
Sea Buckthorn Powder – Complete with high-quality ingredients, made from wild-picked sea buckthorn berries, contains plenty of vitamin C (5 x more than lemons). Ingredients important for skin, skin renewal and rejuvenation, help in the repair of injuries, protects the lining of the digestive system and inhibits weight gain.
Soya flakes - gluten-free, high in fibre, protein and saturated fat and low in cholesterol. It is a very high quality protein source and it helps blood sugar control.
White Quinoa, contains a lot of calcium, amino acids, iron and fibre; it has a low fat content (only "good fats") and a high protein content.
Peeled Millet - the most mineral rich of all grains: contains fluorine , vitamin B, biotin, sulphur, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and especially silica as well as iron. Because of its high content of minerals and trace elements, it promotes general health.
Other ingredients: pumpkin seeds flour, maca powder, strawberry powder, raspberry powder, lucuma, pomegranate powder, rose hip powder, red quinoa, buckwheat, acai powder, bilberry powder, whitethorn fruit powder, aronia fruit powder, nettle powder, guarana, acerola, baobab, beetroot powder, camu camu, cranberry powder, tomato powder, cranberry crisps, coconut chips.
How to Use ‘My Perfect Morning’
Step 1: On the evening before, soak 4 - 6 tablespoons of "My Perfect Morning" in a large muesli bowl. Then mix well with 3dl nut-milk or rice milk, so that a very thin liquid pulp is produced. The soaking promotes enzyme activation and neutralizes the natural enzyme inhibitors. This way, the best of the nutrients are available and can be absorbed more easily. Allow to stand overnight at room temperature.
Step 2: In the morning add freshly cut fruits and berries (if possible in organic quality) as well as enough nut-milk and mix well until achieving a porridge like consistency is formed. If you prefer a hot meal, you can lightly heat the porridge in a saucepan, in medium heat, while stirring (please do not use microwave). Enjoy!
