Wild organic cocoa beans are gently stone-ground. This slow and gentle process allows the Naturkostbar chocolatiers to extract the wonderful flavour from the cocoa beans and preserve many nutrients and vital substances. The mass is poured 100% pure (without any additives) into the chocolate moulds. Cocoa content 100%. Variety & origin The fine Criollo cocoa beans from the humid tropical region of San Martin, Peru. A local co-operative grows the fine flavoured cocoa along the Huallaga River. This cooperative operates according to ethical principles and favours biodiversity to protect the environment. The ripe beans are harvested carefully, fermented in stages and dried without direct sunlight. This allows the unique flavours of these Criollo cocoa beans to develop.
