Cold-pressed organic almond oil from Naturkostbar This chilled almond oil has a pleasantly mild flavour and is ideal as an ingredient in the kitchen as well as for skin care. Origin and production The carefully harvested and dried organic almonds come from the region around Alicante and Granada in the south of Spain. The almonds are gently cold-pressed in the Naturkostbar factory in Uetendorf. The water-cooled oil press ensures that the temperature remains below 37°C. This preserves the valuable ingredients in the oil and makes it a special treat. This almond oil is 100% pure and contains no other oils. What is the best way to use almond oil? This almond oil from Naturkostbar has an intensely nutty flavour and is also pleasantly mild. With its gentle flavour, it rounds off salad dressings, dips, desserts and muesli wonderfully. The low-acid almond oil is also known as a good skin and hair care product. It is particularly suitable for oiling baby and children's skin and for abdominal care for pregnant women. Note: When used in the kitchen, it is advisable to store it in the refrigerator. Why not heat almond oil? Cold-pressed oils (except coconut oil) are sensitive to heat and are therefore mainly suitable for use in cold kitchens. Toxic compounds can form when heated to high temperatures, e.g. frying. Cold-pressed organic cedar nut oil - the gold of the taiga The precious, amber-coloured cedar nut oil has been used throughout Russia for centuries. The flavour is pleasantly nutty. Why consume cedar nut oil? Siberian cedar nut oil is generally regarded as strengthening. In addition, various cosmetics in Russia contain cedar nut oil due to its beneficialproperties for maintaining healthy skin .Cedar nut oil is one of the few oils with a high vitamin E content (approx. 30 mg per 100 g). Vitamin E can help protect cells from oxidative stress. It contains over 26% monounsaturated fatty acids (monounsaturated fatty acids) and over 65% polyunsaturated fatty acids (polyunsaturated fatty acids). We regularly use cedar nut oil in cold dishes because we love the flavour and like to vary the oils a little. What makes Siberian cedar nut oil special? Due to the careful processing and cold pressing of the organic cedar nuts from the Altai Mountains in Siberia, many vital substances are retained. How to use cedar nut oil? The oil tastes particularly delicious with leaf or mixed salads, slightly warm dishes and raw food specialities. Take 1 teaspoon (3 ml) up to 3 times a day. Like most cold-pressed oils, heating significantly damages the quality. It should therefore only be used for cold to slightly warm dishes. Advice: Store in a cool, dry place away from light, as cedar nut oil is very sensitive to UV light. In particular, direct sunlight should be avoided. Store in the refrigerator after first opening. How is cedar nut oil produced? The organic cedar nuts are cold-pressed at regular intervals in Germany using stamp presses. Cedar nuts from Siberia - a treasure of nature Cedar nuts taste similar to other pine nuts, but slightly sweeter and stronger. Unlike almost all commercially available pine nuts, our raw cedar nuts are not heat-treated. Why eat cedar nuts? Cedar nuts contain approx. 55% valuable unsaturated fatty acids, primarily linoleic and alpha-linolenic acid as well as the rare pinoleic/pinolenic acid. They are rich in tocopherols (vitamin E) as antioxidants as well as high-quality proteins (approx. 17%). They also contain many minerals (especially magnesium, potassium, phosphorus), trace elements (copper, manganese, zinc), vitamins (K and B) and flavonoids. For centuries, the inhabitants of Siberia have valued the widespread cedar (Pinus sibirica), a Swiss stone pine, not only as a source of valuable wood, but also for its tasty and highly nutritious seeds, which are found in the cedar cones. What makes our cedar nuts special? Almost all commercially available pine nuts are treated with heat to make them last longer. Our cedar nuts, on the other hand, are completely untreated, which preserves the broad spectrum of nutrients. Where do our cedar nuts come from? They come from the Lake Baikal region in Siberia and are harvested by hand. The Siberian pine is a true treasure of Siberian nature, forming vast areas of unspoilt forests throughout northern Russia. The huge, magnificent trees (up to 40 metres tall) grow slowly and the first cones with seeds only appear when the trees are around 30 years old. They are among the longest-lived tree species in existence, as they can live for 300 to 800 years! The evergreen cedar is a storehouse of cosmic light energy, capturing the energy rays from cosmic space in its millions of needles during its long life. Even thousands of years ago, ancient peoples valued the properties of the cedar tree, which they called "the eternal". The brushwood was used to prepare a vitamin drink, the resin was used to heal wounds and ulcers, and the seeds and their oil helped to survive the long, harsh winters in Siberia. How to use cedar nuts in everyday life? Cedar nuts taste delicious on their own as a snack or together with dried fruit and other nuts, goji berries and cocoa nibs. They can be sprinkled on salads and other dishes or added to mayonnaise, creams and milk. Cedar nuts add a certain elegance to your cooking. Cedar nuts and their oil are also very good for skin care and regeneration. We recommend keeping cedar nuts in the fridge after opening, especially in summer. Customer opinion on the product "I really like cedar nuts. I like to mix them with a little water and then create something sweet or savoury from them. Organic Ceylon cinnamon powder (100% natural) - premium quality you can taste This premium cinnamon powder from Sri Lanka, the original home of the cinnamon tree, is a fine and pure, particularly intensely flavoured cinnamon powder made from real Ceylon cinnamon! It is without doubt the tastiest and freshest cinnamon powder we have ever tasted. True cinnamon has been used by humans since at least 3000 BC and grows naturally in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and Burma. Ceylon cinnamon came to Europe with the Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama in 1502, which he brought back from Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Nowadays, it is more common to find the cassia cinnamon variety on the market, which comes from China, rather than the more aromatic true cinnamon. The flavour of the cinnamon tree comes primarily from cinnamon oil and other aromatic substances such as eugenol, which is also found in cloves. True cinnamon is not only used for flavouring, but also has other interesting applications (*1). Among other things, cinnamon is known to stimulate the appetite and aid digestion. It is also considered helpful for bacterial and fungal infections, inflammation and for lowering blood sugar. Cinnamon contains a very high antioxidant capacity of 131,420 µmol TE/100g (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacit). Since we as a retailer are only allowed to make a few specific statements about the health effects of foods, we recommend that you research information about this product yourself on the Internet, e.g. at Zentrum der Gesundheit. Why we love organic Ceylon cinnamon powder We love this premium cinnamon powder because of its truly unique and particularly aromatic cinnamon scent and flavour, which is not only associated with childhood memories of heavenly cinnamon sugar. Coconut sugar with cinnamon even surpasses the flavour experience and is also a healthy alternative to white sugar! Applesauce with cinnamon is another classic. Recently, we have also been using cinnamon more and more often in our evening turmeric drink (Facebook/blog link) and in chocolate drinks, as well as in curry dishes and teas. The beneficial properties of cinnamon are a very welcome "side effect". SamaraNatura Cinnamon The aroma and flavour of this 100% pure Ceylon cinnamon are particularly intense and fresh, which is achieved through rapid processing and optimal conditions! This cinnamon comes from organic cultivation and fair trade from two local Fairtrade organisations with 2500 participating farmers. Thanks to the co-operation with Fairtrade, the farmers can earn a secure and independent living. The Fairtrade premium can be used to pay for projects such as clean drinking water, school materials for the children and educational projects. Organic farming and fair trade relations have a decisive influence on the quality of the product. Many work steps are carried out traditionally and exclusively by hand. ✓Controlled organic cultivation ✓Raw food ✓Vegan ✓Fairtrade ✓Premium quality and very flavourful ✓100% pure nature ✓Without preservatives or other additives Use In smoothies, desserts, chocolate drinks, coffee, curry dishes, spiced teas, nut milk and fruit juices. Update: The new batch of Medjool dates is now available. They are large, aromatic and wonderfully juicy (but not too sticky). Organic Medjool dates with stones These Medjool dates are large and have a particularly soft, creamy texture. They taste honey-sweet and are very delicious. Origin: Palestine We source these aromatic and tender organic Medjool dates from a leading producer in Palestine. In the fertile regions, the fruits ripen and dry on date palms up to 30 metres tall. Date palms have been growing there naturally for over 6,000 years. These sweet powerhouses are harvested in autumn. Raw-grade dates To our knowledge, dates are often heated to ensure they are free from pests. However, the producer in Palestine takes special care to ensure that the dates are not exposed to temperatures above 42 degrees. That is why these dates are labelled as raw. Uses Thanks to their sweet, caramel-like flavour, they enhance desserts, muesli and salads. With their fruity sweetness, they are ideal for making confectionery. You can find the recipe for healthy date Christmas confectionery on the recipes page. Dates are also a perfect snack for in between meals and a quick source of energy during exercise. Naturkostbar’s Exotic Mango Premium Muesli Naturkostbar’s Mango Muesli has been a welcome addition to our muesli range for a few years now. Exotically sweet mango flakes, combined with nine of our finest raw ingredients, make this muesli something truly special: enjoy a wholesome start to the day with our Mango Muesli. The carefully selected nuts, seeds and dried fruits blend perfectly in flavour, tempting you to enjoy a crunchy yet tender, fruit-sweetened breakfast. The muesli provides you with a concentrated boost of nutrients and is very easily digestible. Sprouted almonds, buckwheat, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, together with mango flakes and cocoa nibs, form the basis of this gluten-free muesli. Sprouting allows the nuts and seeds to develop their full nutritional potential. The subsequent gentle drying process makes them wonderfully crunchy, without any roasting. Dried berries give the muesli its natural sweetness. Why sprout? To ensure that the almonds, buckwheat and sunflower seeds can develop their full mineral and vitamin content, they are sprouted after harvesting. Sprouting activates the dormant life forces within the grain, which allow the tiny sprout to grow into a plant. During the gentle drying process, these properties are then carefully preserved, making the buckwheat grains, almonds and sunflower seeds beautifully crunchy. The oats are carefully processed into wholegrain flakes and enrich the mixture with a wide range of nutrients, fibre and amino acids. Usage The Mango Muesli is the perfect way to start your day. Enjoy it with fresh almond or hazelnut milk. You can also use it as a muesli base and add cereal flakes, fresh fruit and nut butter. Our muesli is vegan, gluten-free and contains no added sweeteners. This makes it the perfect choice for a balanced breakfast. Ingredients for Mango Muesli Sprouted organic almonds Sprouted organic sunflower seeds Sprouted organic buckwheat Organic mango flakes 13% Sprouted organic pumpkin seeds Organic cocoa beans Organic goji berries Organic physalis Organic raspberries Ingredients for Mango Muesli Our mango muesli is particularly rich in nutrients. Of particular note are the B vitamins, vitamin E and trace elements such as potassium, magnesium and manganese. The almonds are high in vitamin E and vitamin B2, as well as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc and potassium. They are also a source of vitamin B1, vitamin B3 and folic acid. Buckwheat also provides many B-complex vitamins. Carefully selected cocoa beans provide plenty of magnesium and are rich in antioxidants and phytochemicals. The dried fruits, such as dried goji berries, contain not only vitamin B but also plenty of iron, which our bodies need for blood formation and oxygen transport. The sprouted 3-grain muesli is now called Edelmüesli Pure Basics To complement Rohkost-Hüsli’s muesli range (breakfast muesli, apricot muesli and sour cherry muesli), we now stock Naturkostbar’s 3-grain sprouted muesli. It combines sprouted wholemeal oats, sprouted buckwheat grains and sprouted sunflower seeds. These provide us with plenty of minerals, trace elements and vitamins, and form the perfect basis for breakfast. This easily digestible three-grain blend has a balanced, mildly nutty flavour. The grains contain less than 20 ppm gluten and are therefore also suitable for a gluten-free diet. Origin and production Produced in Romania. The ingredients come from the Netherlands, Poland and Hungary. Naturkostbar sources the sprouted wholegrain flakes and grains directly from a family-run business in Romania, which specialises in sprouted raw foods and processes the harvests of numerous organic farmers across Europe. Their mindful, nature-centred philosophy aligns perfectly with our values. Why sprout? To allow oats, buckwheat and sunflower seeds to develop their full mineral and vitamin content, they are sprouted after harvesting. Sprouting activates the dormant life forces within the grain, which allow the tiny sprout to grow into a plant. During the gentle drying process, these vital forces are then carefully preserved, making the buckwheat and sunflower seeds beautifully crunchy. The oats are carefully processed into wholegrain flakes, enriching the mix with a wealth of nutrients, fibre and amino acids. Uses This wonderful three-grain blend is ideal as a nutrient-rich base for muesli. It tastes delicious combined with fresh berries and fruit, as well as raisins, dates, hemp seeds, acai powder, cocoa powder and many other ingredients. Also suitable for making cereal patties. Ingredients: Edelmüesli Pure Basics Sprouted organic oats Sprouted organic buckwheat Sprouted organic sunflower seeds Sprouted oats Sprouted raw oats contain an impressive array of minerals, trace elements and vitamins. For example, the biotin in oats can support healthy skin, hair and nails, whilst vitamins B1 and B6 can strengthen the nervous system and mental well-being. Oats contain at least twice as much iron as meat. For optimal absorption, it’s best to combine the flakes with fruit rich in vitamin C, or – for a savoury option – with salad and vegetables, for example in a grain burger. As a component of red blood cells, iron promotes the transport of oxygen in the blood. The grain also scores highly for its magnesium and silicon content. Oats also provide valuable antioxidants. Sprouted buckwheat Buckwheat contains all the essential amino acids and can therefore support the development of muscles, organs, cartilage, bones, skin, hair and nails. Buckwheat is also rich in iron and selenium. As a component of red blood cells, iron promotes the transport of oxygen in the blood. And selenium can protect cells from oxidative stress and support the normal function of the thyroid gland. Sprouted sunflower seeds Sunflower seeds provide us with a particularly high amount of vitamin E. They also contain vitamin B and a particularly high amount of unsaturated fatty acids. The seeds are a valuable source of folic acid, zinc and potassium. Phosphorus, iron and magnesium can contribute to normal energy metabolism. Sunflower seeds can also support our body thanks to their high content of essential amino acids. Amino acids are involved in almost all metabolic processes and transport important nutrients and oxygen throughout our bodies. Most hormones and antibodies are also made up of amino acids, meaning that a deficiency can quickly lead to a poorly functioning immune system. Cold-pressed Swiss organic hemp oil 100ml Update: Naturkostbar no longer produces hemp oil, which is why we have switched to hemp oil made from Swiss hemp seeds from Oelerei in Fehraltorf. At the Naturkostbar Fanufaktur in Uetendorf near Thun, this hemp oil is pressed from organic hemp seeds from the Bernese Seeland using a water-cooled oil mill (to prevent heat build-up) at temperatures below 37°C. It is rich in omega 3 (alpha-linolenic acid) and omega 6 (linoleic acid) fatty acids, which are also in an optimal ratio of 1:3. Hemp is a very undemanding, mostly annual plant. Due to its resilience, it can also be grown very well in Switzerland without pesticides. Except for the rainy summer of 2021, hemp produces very good harvests. Certified organic Swiss producer and seeds Naturkostbar presses only organic seeds into high-quality edible oils using a water-cooled oil mill. Organic certification: BTA CH-BIO-038 In addition to this Swiss hemp oil, we have various other chilled organic edible oils from Naturkostbar in our range. Use of hemp oil With its wonderful flavour, hemp oil is ideal for flavouring vegetable dishes and salads. A homemade salad dressing with hemp oil tastes great and is good for you! Hemp oil is also suitable for use on the skin and hair, as it can have a regenerating and cell-renewing effect. Note 1: Cold-pressed oils (except coconut oil) are sensitive to heat and are therefore mainly suitable for use in cold dishes. Toxic compounds can form when heated to high temperatures, e.g. frying. Note 2: Store in the refrigerator after opening. Organic macadamia nuts from Kenya Naturkostbar macadamia nuts are particularly large, crunchy and buttery sweet. Macadamia nuts are among the most expensive nuts in the world due to their difficult cultivation and fluctuating quality, which is why the macadamia nut is also known as the "queen of nuts". Origin and processing These macadamia nuts grow in one of the most fertile regions of Africa, at the foot of Mount Kenya. Due to the high altitude and the associated cold nights, the nuts are of a very high quality. The Kenyan farmers cultivate the nut trees in harmony with nature. After harvesting, the macadamia nuts are gently dried and shelled in the region. They are then imported directly to Switzerland by Naturkostbar. Use The natural macadamia nuts are a special snack thanks to their delicate, creamy sweet flavour. Of course, the delicious nuts can also be used for macadamia milk or in desserts, although macadamia nut is better suited to this. Matcha chocolates from Naturkostbar Only the finest organic ingredients are used in these handmade matcha pralines. Delicate, stone-ground cashew butter, unroasted cocoa from Peru and coconut blossom sugar blend together to create a unique treat. Almond oil, Bourbon vanilla and, in this special creation, delicate matcha green tea powder from Japan, perfectly enhance this delicacy. Production of Matcha Chocolates Naturkostbar produces these exquisite Matcha pralines using traditional methods and with loving care by hand at its workshop in Uetendorf. Selected organic ingredients (almost all of which are raw food quality) are used. Wherever possible, the raw materials are sourced directly from producers in their country of origin. The production process is also unique. The unroasted cocoa beans are sorted by hand and then carefully processed in a stone mill. This process takes several hours, resulting in a tempting filling and the delicate chocolate that coats the pralines. Added to this is creamy, stone-ground cashew butter, which blends with the coconut blossom sugar, almond oil and Bourbon vanilla to create a unique treat. Green tea powder, sustainably grown, harvested and processed from organic, pesticide-free tea gardens in southern Japan, lends these special pralines a particularly refined note. Note: A white coating on the pralines is a natural fat bloom and may occur due to temperature fluctuations. It does not affect the quality. The pralines are made from 100% natural ingredients and contain no lecithin. Best stored at 18°C. Ingredients The matcha pralines are made from just a few, but very high-quality, ingredients: cashew butter*, coconut blossom sugar*, ground cocoa beans*, cocoa butter*, cold-pressed almond oil*, matcha green tea 5%*, Bourbon vanilla* *from organic farming Contents The attractive gift box contains 6 matcha pralines, totalling 72g. Serving suggestions Enjoy these exquisite Matcha pralines as a delicious dessert or as a little pick-me-up during challenging times. Of course, the matcha chocolates also make a wonderful special gift for birthdays, festive occasions or other important moments. Organic cashews Jumbo - hand-cracked and Fairtrade The popular Jumbo cashews (240 size) are available again in 500g and 1kg bags. Jumbo cashews from Kerala (India) are among the best cashews in the world. They come from small farmers in Kerala (India) where they are carefully harvested, shelled and sorted by hand. They are gently dried in the sun to protect the nutrients and flavours as well as possible. Unlike most other cashews, they are truly raw food quality, i.e. hand-cracked, unsteamed and unheated. This not only preserves the nutrients much better, but also results in exceptional quality! The cashews are extra large, incredibly tasty and crunchy. They impress with their mild, sweet and nutty flavour. The cashews are very light to beige in colour. We have tried countless cashews over the years, but these cashews are among the best we have ever had. The grading size is 240, which means that there are 240 cashews of this size in a pound bag (1 pound equals 454g). The larger the value (e.g. 320), the smaller the cashew nuts. Origin Our organic Fairtrade cashew nuts come from small farmers in Kerala (India) where they are carefully harvested, shelled and sorted by hand. They are gently dried in the sun to protect the nutrients and flavours as much as possible. The farmers belong to the Elements & Fairtrade Alliance Kerala (FTAK). By buying these Fairtrade jumbo cashews, you are supporting these Fairtrade smallholder groups in improving their living conditions through hard and honest labour. Use We love these cashews as a snack on their own or mixed with fresh or dried fruit. Sprinkle cashews on salads, in muesli or use them for cashew milk, cashew puree and many vegan desserts such as pudding and cheesecake. Tip: The combination of cashew nuts with goji berries and/or cocoa nibs creates a very special flavour experience. Caution : Keep out of the reach of children. May contain traces of other nuts.
