White granulated sugar, made from sugar beet or sugar cane, consists mainly of sucrose and has a neutral aroma. Its glycemic index is relatively high at 70, i.e. blood sugar rises quickly when it is consumed. But there are various alternatives, which are suitable depending on personal preference and use.

Coconut blossom sugar is obtained from the blossom nectar of coconut palms. It is a mineral-rich alternative to cane sugar and has a glycemic index of 35. The use is 1 to 1 like granulated sugar and fits perfectly in desserts, smoothies and pastries.
