Coconut Flour – Gluten-Free and High in Fibre

Coconut trees have been cultivated for at least 3000 years. The nutritious coconuts rich in good fat and high-quality protein made tropical islanders enjoy a good health over many generations, before they often changed their eating habits due to exterior influences.

Coconut flour is made from fresh coconut meat, which has been de-oiled and dried and then ground into fine flour.

With 40% dietary fibres coconut flour is one of the highest fibre foods. Fibres promote digestive and intestinal health, bind toxins, reduce blood lipids, regulate blood sugar levels and help to keep you slim.

Unlike grains coconut flour is free of gluten and phytic acid and great to use in baking recipes, bread spreads, sauces, desserts and more.

Since fibres absorb liquid, coconut flour is an excellent binding agent for soups and sauces and gives dishes a more smooth texture than is possible with normal flour.

Coconut flour contributes to a balanced, high-grade protein supply as it contains about 20% protein with all eight essential amino acids.

It is low in calories and perfect for a low-carb diet. Coconut flour contains approx. 11% coconut oil with its healthy medium-chain fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health and weight control.

Why we love Coconut Flour

The coconut with its wonderful exotic flavour has become an integral part of our kitchen and many baked goods.

The gluten-free flour is a great alternative for people with celiac disease or sensitive digestive system, who appreciate the importance of a light diet for gastrointestinal health.

Coconut flour only has 25% of calories and fat left from the coconut and contains less digestible carbs than normal flours. Foods out of coconut flour are filling and ensure a longlasting satiety due to their high fibre content and rich amino acid supply.

SamaraNatura Coconut Flour

Our coconut flour from the Philippines is made from fresh coconut meat from organic coconuts that are locally processed within three days after harvest.

After oil extraction, the de-oiled coconut meat is dried in raw food quality below 40 °C, and afterwards finely ground like ordinary flour.

Our coconut flour is made from certified organic cultivation, contains no preservatives, no additives, is unsweetened and unbleached.

Use

In baking recipes you can replace up to 30% of standard flours (containing gluten) by coconut flour. Due to its high absorbency add more liquid to the recipe. Sugars can be reduced as coconut flour has a slightly sweet taste.

To meet your fibre needs you can mix coconut flour into smoothies, shakes and juices and sprinkle it over cereals and fruit salads. It perfectly fits to the raw-food cuisine giving raw desserts and sauces a delicious flavour.

Coconut flour even in small amounts is an excellent binding agent for sauces, soups and spreads creating a pleasant texture of these dishes.

Baobab powder organic
Baobab – the African super fruit Why Baobab Powder? Baobab has a slightly citrusy, fruity, refreshing taste and is rich in vitamin C and the minerals calcium, potassium, iron and magnesium. Due to its favorable calcium-phosphorus ratio in combination with vitamin C, the bioavailability of calcium and iron is particularly good. Baobab is great for vegans because it's high in calcium - twice as much as milk. Effect of baobab powder? The baobab fruit has approx. 50% dietary fiber - half the particularly valuable soluble dietary fiber - and thus supports the intestinal functions and a favorable, regular digestion. Baobab also contains numerous phytonutrients that, as powerful antioxidants, help to protect cells and vessels from free radicals. What makes our baobab powder special? Our baobab powder is 100% pure, raw and chemical free. The pod contains the seeds and the naturally dried pulp. The natural fruit powder is separated from the seeds and fibers in a mechanical process. Origin of our babobab powder This superfruit is native to Africa. By spreading to the western world, distribution helps African communities reduce poverty while preserving nature. So baobab is good for us, good for Africans and good for the environment. The African baobab tree (Adansonia digitata) or baobab tree (from Arabic bu-hubub) is a characteristic part of the African savannah. It's also jokingly called the "inverted tree" because it looks like its roots reach up into the sky in a ghostly silhouette. Africans have valued this tree and its fruit for a long time and have given it various names such as tree of life and magic tree. Its thick trunk can store up to 300 liters of water, enabling the tree to survive long periods of drought. The nutritious fruit powder forms naturally in the ripe fruit pod, which also contains the seeds. Tips for use in everyday life We like the taste and use it pure with water and a little sweetener - a real treat. It can be used wonderfully as an ingredient in all cocoa and dessert creations and gives them a delicious, slightly sweet and sour note. Due to its high pectin content (approx. 25%), baobab powder is particularly suitable for recipes where binding or thickening properties are required. In addition, baobab is a natural flavor enhancer and gives every dish, whether sweet or savory, a special touch. Baobab also goes well with muesli, in yoghurt, nut milk and as an ingredient in baked goods and desserts (with cocoa). If you like it sweeter, just add a teaspoon of agave syrup. Recipe with baobab powder Try a refreshing vitality drink: mix 1 to 2 teaspoons of baobab powder with water and lemon or add it to juice or your favorite smoothie. Coconut oil organic
Cocnut Oil - Healthy Allround-Product Update from November 15th, 2022: The new batch of our coconut oil is now available. On the right side you can choose the variants 500ml or 1000ml. Why buy organic coconut oil? Naturally aromatic taste Use in the kitchen and for personal hygiene High heat stability For weight loss support The digestible coconut oil with its naturally fragrant, mildly aromatic taste is a must for us in the kitchen! A big advantage of coconut fat in contrast to other oils is that it is very heat-stable. It is therefore ideal for cooking, frying and baking. And it also has a long shelf life. Coconut oil does not make you fat and is even said to help you lose weight, as it is immediately converted into energy by the body. The special saturated fatty acids of coconut (so-called MCT fats) - and here in particular the high content of lauric acid - are of great nutritional and physiological benefit. Breast milk also consists largely of these medium-chain fatty acids, which do not contain any cholesterol themselves, but promote the production of healthy, vascular-protecting HDL cholesterol. Coconut oil also has valuable properties for cosmetics. Coconut oil cares for skin and hair and provides moisture, promotes well-being, a beautiful appearance and a vital radiance. This is also known in Asia, where coconut oil has been used as a rich source of food, beauty and care products for centuries. What makes our coconut oil special? Extraction from fresh fruit meat Organic certification Gentle processing Coconut palms are ancient crops and have been grown for at least 3000 years. When it comes to coconut oil, it is particularly important to pay attention to the quality of the product, because many of the coconut fats available on the market are industrially hardened and deodorized. For our virgin coconut oil, the pulp of freshly harvested organic coconuts is gently dried for one to two days and then cold-pressed. The result is coconut oil with a subtle coconut taste. The coconut oil is certified organic, unbleached, not deodorized and without any additives. The unhardened, unrefined "Virgin Coconut Oil" convinces with its excellent properties and particularly high content of valuable lauric acid. Both sizes (500ml and 1 liter) are filled into a practical, reclosable white glass. This can later be used as a storage jar for powder, nuts and much more. Where does our coconut oil come from? The current batch is from the Philippines. Tips for use: In the kitchen and for personal care You can use the oil, which has a firm consistency in the refrigerator, for example as a butter substitute, spread or for salad dressing. However, due to its fatty acid structure, it can also be used for frying at high temperatures and gives sauces, Asian dishes and other dishes a subtle exotic note. Very tasty in desserts and homemade chocolates. Insider tip: pour a teaspoon of warm coconut oil over ice cream. Applied as a hair care or hair treatment, it makes brittle hair supple and shiny. To do this, massage coconut oil into dry hair, leave it on for 10-15 minutes, then wash the hair with a mild shampoo. Coconut oil has a firm consistency at room temperature and begins to melt and turn into oil at around 25 degrees.
