Coconut blossom sugar – Deliciously sweetener

Coconut blossom sugar is derived from the blossom nectar of coconut trees and has a wonderful caramel-like flavour. It is a great, mineral-rich alternative to cane sugar and contains a lot of potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. Moreover, a natural source of vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, C and amino acids (especially glutamic acid).

Coconut sugar is extremely low glycaemic (GI=35) and thus provides a slow release of energy and protects blood glucose levels. This is promising news for those concerned with health issues such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, and gallstones.

Our coconut palm sugar is made from 100% coconut nectar from Coco Nucifera. For the health conscious consumers and diabetics, it can be considered to be one of the best sweeteners.

Why we love Coconut Sugar

SamaraNatura coconut palm sugar tastes very similar to brown sugar, but better! It has a rich, sugary, sweet caramel flavour that enhances the flavour of whatever you use it in. Many chefs praise how coconut sugar made their culinary treats more flavourful and delicious.

Best of all, coconut sugar has a much lower glycaemic index compared to other sweeteners, which means it produces a slow energy release, which sustains the human body through your daily activities without regular sugar highs and lows.

And we love the fact that this sweetener is one of the few truly sustainable ingredients in the world! In terms of people, health and environment, coconut sweeteners provide benefit every step of the way. Lifting communities out of poverty, bringing much needed nutrients into the human body in a mode (sweets) that often does just the opposite, and in preserving rainforest, protecting fragile tropical biomes and indeed promoting the return of devastated land back to balance.

SamaraNatura Coconut Sugar

Our coconut blossom sugar is 100% natural, organic, unbleached, free from additives and artificial flavouring. Only sap from coconut trees is harvested, this is not palm sugar where other palm varieties would be used and compromise the exquisite quality. Our coconut sugar is a sustainable product and supports local communities and families in Indonesia.

Please note that some palm sugar on the market are also mixed with cane sugar and other malt-based ingredients. Our coconut sugar is pure, unadulterated coconut palm sugar made from 100% coconut nectar from Coco Nucifera. Coconut palm sugars are not produced from the same palm species as is used for the production of palm oil.

Our granulated coconut palm nectar is not raw. By raw, we mean processed at temperatures under 42°C.

We prefer to have higher quality and let remove as much moisture from the coconut sugar as possible. This results in a drier final product if compared to other coconut sugars in the market. We feel this allows more flexibility for the end user and means you are not buying water weight.

Use of Coconut Sugar

Coconut sugar melts easy in hot and cold beverages, is delicious in desserts, smoothies, and pastries. A small spoonful of our rich caramel coconut sugar is a healthy treat to overcome cravings and gives instant energy.

Cocnut sugar can be used 1:1 as a replacement for cane sugar in any recipe.

Do your own research on Maca on the Internet. Among others, we find the site of Dr. Schweikart very informative. The different varieties are also described there. Currently, our assortment includes, in addition to the yellow Maca described here, also the red and black Maca, of course also in organic and raw food quality. In addition, we carry Bio Maca Max, a more digestible variety, in which the starch contained in the Maca powder is converted by heating, so that it is easier to digest and absorb. Why we love Maca Maca increases our energy levels. Maca makes us feel full of energy, grounded and cheerful.Plus, Maca has a pleasant, malty flavor and can be used in many different ways. SamaraNatura Maca Powder yellow Our pure, yellow, Maca powder is made from 100% natural Maca roots from controlled organic cultivation, produced under strict production standards and quality controls. This is a means of raising the standard of living of small farmers while increasing their crop yields. How to use Maca Powder Maca has a unique flavor and can be added to many different dishes. Some people find the taste of maca powder somewhat reminiscent of caramel with an upbeat note. Maca powder can be stirred into rice, nut or hemp milk, for example, or simply mixed into muesli. Mix Maca powder with water, milk of your choice or add it to juice, smoothie, muesli or raw desserts. Maca is also a good binder for soups and therefore a delicious addition to them. We especially like maca with oatmeal and as an ingredient in our raw chocolate recipes. It is advisable to start with a small amount of ½ tsp per day and increase up to 1-2 tbsp per day. Unlike soy products, Mexican yam and flaxseed, maca does not contain hormones.Note: A common misconception about superfoods and herbs is that there is a standard usage amount. In general, the usual recommended daily intake for most superfoods, like maca, is between 1 tsp and 3 tbsp per day, divided into two or three doses. Cacao nibs Criollo Organic
Cacao Nibs Criollo – Chocolate Magic Cacao nibs or chips are cacao beans which were peeled and broken into small pieces. Our cacao nibs are from one of the finest cacao varieties and 100% raw and unprocessed. Our premium cacao is grown by small farmers in the Amazon rainforest under semi-wild conditions. Cacao has all the health benefits of chocolate but without the high sugar content and additives found in commercial chocolate. Raw cacao contains an abundance of antioxidants, and the combination of stimulating substances (serotonin, dopamine, anandamide and phenethylamine) has mood lifting effects and promotes in us feelings of well-being and joy. Cacao is also rich in magnesium and sulfur, the beauty mineral. Cacao nibs taste less bitter than cacao powder, since they still contain the entire share of the cacao butter (approx. 55%), as also cacao paste does. Why we love Cacao The cacao bean is an amazing food given to us by Mother Nature. The Aztecs considered cacao as a gift of God and used it not only as an offering, but also as a means of payment. It is estimated that raw cacao contains approx. 300 substances and it is considered as one the foods richest in antioxidants! Therefore cacao can significantly help to protect our body cells from free radicals and premature aging. Cacao has the highest magnesium content of all foods. Magnesium is essential for the heart, brain, to calm and relax nerves and muscles and to build bones and cartilages. In conjunction with other ingredients cacao is an ideal brain food and supports mental performance, concentration and attention. Cacao contains a combination of substances which affect our emotions stimulating feelings of well-being and joy. And cacao is rich in sulfur, which promotes strong nails and healthy hair and beautifies the skin. SamaraNatura Cacao Nibs Our cacao nibs are 100% raw and unprocessed. They are made from Criollo cacao from Peru, which is one of the best and rarest varieties in the world. Our fine cocoa is cultivated without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Fine cacao of premium quality has a share of only 5-10% of the world's cacao production. Fine cacao grows under similar and often nearly same conditions as in nature, since cacao trees do not like full sun and thrive best close to high rainforest trees. On the contrary the commercial Forastero cacao is typically cultivated in monoculture plantations. As the name indicates, fine cacao has a better, more exquisite flavour which is less bitter than the taste of commercial cacao. Criollo beans are slightly fermented which enhances their typical cacao aroma. Cacao nibs, which are cacao beans peeled and broken into small pieces, taste less bitter than the beans. The purity of our organic, fair trade certified Criollo Cacao is void of mycotoxins, mould and yeast, and thus prevents you from experiencing the jitters associated with caffeine foods or beverages. Use On its own as a snack or sprinkle on cereals and fruit salad. Add cacao nibs to desserts and smoothies. They taste particularly good together with goji berries and nuts. Cacao nibs are convenient to take for journeys and on travels as they do not melt as quickly as chocolate does when exposed to heat. If you prefer more sweetness, you can dip the cacao nibs in agave syrup or honey. Yacon Syrup Organic
Yacon Syrup Organic - Delicious, prebiotic sweetener Yacon is grown in the high mountain valleys of the Andes and has a dense root system that is full of minerals, vitamins and complex vital substances. The freshly squeezed juice of the root is a gift from nature and has been enjoyed by the Andean peoples for centuries. The special thing about Yacon is the quality of its sugar, which is mainly in the form of oligofructose (or fructooligosaccharides). Oligofructose cannot be used by the digestive enzymes and therefore hardly causes any calories and protects the blood sugar level. In addition, as a prebiotic, oligofructose supports a healthy intestinal flora. An ideal sweetener for diabetics, health-conscious and diet-conscious people alike. Why we love Yacon Syrup Yacon tastes delicious and has half as many calories as honey, for example. And on top of that, its sugar hardly increases the blood sugar level and avoids strenuous blood sugar highs and lows. Yacon syrup is also significantly less glycemic than honey, agave or maple syrup. The oligofructose in Yacon also supports the beneficial bacteria in the colon, thereby improving digestion and absorption of nutrients. The indigestible sugar thus serves the beneficial bacteria as prebiotic food. SamaraNatura Yacon Syrup Our yacon syrup comes from traditional varieties from the Peruvian Andes and is 100% natural, grown without pesticides and agrochemicals. It is produced at low temperatures, which guarantees that the syrup retains a very high quality of nutrients and enzymes. This yacon syrup is thickened from yacon juice in a special vacuum process at low temperatures of 45°C. Since this yacon syrup can only be kept for a relatively short time without pasteurization, it is pasteurized at 70°C for 3 minutes. The syrup is therefore not raw food, but processed very gently, which means that the valuable nutrients and enzymes in the roots are largely retained. How to use Yacon syrup can be used in many ways as a sweetener. It can be used to sweeten desserts, drinks and smoothies. For salad dressings, we like to mix the syrup with vinegar, as a substitute for balsamic vinegar, which usually contains a lot of sugar. The sweetness of the syrup is less strong than the sweetness of sugar, honey or agave syrup. To support a healthy intestinal flora, 1 teaspoon is sufficient daily. For a better shelf life, we recommend storing the yacon syrup in the refrigerator. Xylitol birch sugar
Xylitol birch sugar from Finnish birch and beech wood Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol, which however has nothing to do with ordinary alcohol. Xylitol serves as a sugar substitute for sweetening drinks and food as well as for preventing plaque and tooth decay. Cheap xylitol is mostly made from glucose from corn - often also from genetically modified corn. In contrast, high-quality xylitol is produced in a complex process by the hydrogenation of wood sugar (xylose). Since birch bark is traditionally used in Finland, the name birch sugar has become common. Our xylitol is made from Finnish birch and beech wood. Why we like Xylitol We've tried a range of natural sweeteners over the years, and after discovering Xylitol, it's one of our favorite sweeteners. Xylitol has the same color and sweetness as white sugar and has no taste of its own, such as coconut blossom sugar. In addition, the birch sugar is good for the teeth, contains 40% less calories compared to ordinary granulated sugar and has a low glycemic index. Disadvantages are the much higher price. In addition, birch sugar, when consumed excessively, has a laxative effect and is toxic to dogs (see security alert). Our Xylitol Birch sugar from Tautona Tautona Xylit is of very high quality and is obtained from birch and beech wood from Finland. It is a 100% pure, white, granular product (like granulated sugar). Due to the birch bark process, xylitol is not a raw food product. Use Xylitol looks and tastes like sugar. It is used 1: 1 like regular sugar, for example in hot and cold drinks, cakes and desserts. Since yeast xylitol can not metabolise, it is not suitable for yeast baked goods. For home-made chocolate and raw cakes, it is advisable to grind the crystals to a powder (with blender or coffee grinder), thus achieving a more even result. Xylitol belongs to the class of sugar alcohols, which can be laxative when consumed excessively. To avoid bloating and diarrhea, start with a small amount of about 1 tbsp a day to allow the body to adjust. Security Alert Xylitol is toxic to dogs because it causes them to rapidly lose their blood sugar and seizures. This is not unusual, because other foods for humans are toxic to dogs. Cats do not appear to be affected by xylitol.
