Organic chestnut flour
Update: Sold out of the last bags. The manufacturer PlantLife has gone bankrupt. The chestnut flour will then be discontinued.
The high-quality chestnut flour made from organic Italian chestnuts has a pleasantly sweet and strong flavour with a nutty note. The typical chestnut flavour comes into its own in our flour. It is ideal for baking and complements both sweet and nutty dishes.
Chestnut flour is tested several times for gluten. More and more people are switching to a low-gluten or gluten-free diet. It is not uncommon for people who switch to a gluten-free diet to notice a relieving and improved body sensation. It is reported that the body feels lighter and appears more energised. Many reasons to give it a try.
Where does chestnut flour come from?
Our organic gluten-free chestnut flour comes from Italy, where it is grown and processed under strict organic guidelines. Our chestnut flour is also certified gluten-free. This means that not only is there a gluten-free symbol on our packaging, but that it has also been checked and tested according to strict guidelines. You can recognise this by the control number on the label.
Sweet chestnuts are the edible nuts of the chestnut tree. You can recognise the edible chestnuts by the fact that the whole, still closed nuts are surrounded by many spines on the outside. This is in contrast to normal chestnuts, which only have a few spikes.
Why is chestnut flour healthy?
The carbohydrates it contains are mainly in the form of starch, which provides us with plenty of energy over a longer period of time. Starchy foods are particularly popular during sporting activities. In addition, chestnuts do not contain gluten (glutenin) and can therefore be used in a low-gluten or gluten-free diet (if the product has been processed under gluten-free conditions).
What can chestnut flour be used for?
Chestnut flour can be used in a wide variety of applications. You can simply replace white flour with chestnut flour in most baking creations.
