Irisch Wakame ist eine Alge, die hauptsächlich auf Steinen entlang der Atlantikküste Europas wächst. Zuerst wurde es in der Nähe von Irland entdeckt, daher der Name. Das irische Volk verwendete die Algen während der irischen Hungersnot im 19. Jahrhundert und seitdem hat seine Popularität exponentiell zugenommen.

Warum wir Irisch Wakame lieben

Mit seinem hohen Gehalt an Kalcium ist dieser Seetang eine gute Ergänzung im Speiseplan. Der Geschmack des Wakame ist für Meeresalgen-Verhältnisse recht akzeptabel, da er keinen fischigen Geschmack aufweist.

Algaran Irisch Wakame

Das Erntegebiet liegt in Kilcar/Donegal im Nordwesten von Irland. Alle AlgAran-Algen werden mit grossem Respekt und Sorgfalt für die Meeresumwelt von Hand geerntet.

Die geernteten Algen werden am Ufer gespült und dann bei niedrigen Temperaturen getrocknet, um ihren reichen Nährstoffgehalt zu erhalten.

Unsere Bio-Zertifizierung verlangt, dass alle Algen nur an sauberen Küsten, frei von Verunreinigungen, gewonnen werden, dass die Algen innerhalb von nur wenigen Stunden verarbeitet werden und dass die Erntehelfer mit grösstem Respekt vor der Meeresumwelt arbeiten. Zudem stellen regelmässige Analysen sicher, dass alle Algenprodukte sicher und gesund zum Essen sind.

Algaran garantiert auch mit vollständiger Dokumentation, dass ihre Algen nur aus lokaler, irischer Herkunft sind, dass es keine Schwermetalle enthält (Kontaminationsindex), dass die Verarbeitungstemperaturen niemals 30°C übersteigen und dass es frisch geerntet wurde (Datum der Ernte ist auf dem Etikett).
