Omega-3 capsules EPA + DHA

Product information "Omega-3 capsules EPA + DHA"

Purely plant-based from algae oil (instead of fish oil)

Until a few years ago, DHA could only be provided as a dietary supplement in the form of fish oil. Thanks to a new process, it is now possible to obtain DHA from microalgae. This means that DHA from algae oil is now available as an equivalent plant-based alternative.

Why supplement omega-3 fatty acids?

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). Essential means that we must obtain them from our diet as our body cannot produce them itself.

If we do not eat a healthy diet, this can lead to an undersupply of omega 3 fatty acids.

There are many reasons why someone may not get enough omega 3 fatty acids naturally from their diet. Examples:

  • Foods with a high content are often not part of the daily diet
  • The required amount is not sufficiently covered by the diet due to overexertion in sport and work

This deficiency can be remedied with food supplements. Omega 3 capsules are very easy to take and can be easily integrated into the daily routine.

How do omega 3 fatty acids work?

Omega 3 fatty acids have a very broad spectrum of effects.

  • Better protection of cells against the premature ageing process
  • Strong antioxidants
  • Positive influence on the entire cardiovascular system
  • Reduction of triglyceride levels, which in the long term leads to an increase in HDL cholesterol levels
  • Improvement of blood circulation
  • Reduction in the formation of substances responsible for numerous inflammations. Thus helpful for rheumatism, arthritis, psoriasis and neurodermatitis

Special composition of SamaraNatura Omega-3 capsules

  • Algae oil 75% (algae oil from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. 67%)
  • Sunflower oil 2%
  • Rosemary extract
  • Antioxidant: tocopherol)
  • Capsule shell (humectant: glycerine, thickener: modified maize starch, carrageenan; water, acidity regulator: sodium carbonate).

Recommended intake Omega-3 capsules

2 capsules of 0.6g daily with the main meal.

250mg DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) + 125mg EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) = 375mg omega-3 fatty acids.

Bag contents

The sachet contains 120 Omega-3 capsules of 0.6g each = total 72g. If you take 2 capsules per day, one sachet will last for 60 days.

Flaxseed Oil Organic
Weight : 100ml
Top quality linseed oil from Swiss organic linseed | Fresh, cold-pressed and unfiltered Update: The next linseed oil pressing will take place on Monday 24 February 2025. Please place your pre-order by Sunday evening 23.02.2025. Shipping will take place on Wednesday 26.02.2025 with Post Pack Priority, so delivery should take place on Thursday. You can find all the other order details below. What makes our linseed oil special? Very tasty: Freshly pressed linseed oil does not taste bitter at all (in the first few weeks), but has a mild nutty flavour Organic: The brown organic linseed from producer Jakob Bachofner comes from his own fields in Fehraltorf Pressed chilled: Due to the water cooling of the mill, the oil temperature remains at 28-32°C throughout the pressing process Regional: Fehraltorf is only 10 kilometres away from our warehouse in Wetzikon. Shipping to your home is CO2-neutral with Swiss Post Miron glass: The linseed oil is filled in high-quality bottles made of Miron glass because it offers the best protection of quality. A report by the ProSieben science magazine Galileo has also shown that many products have a longer shelf life and smell better than conventional glass. Watch the interesting report in the following video: Galileo - Video - Violet glass - ProSieben Jakob Bachofner from Oelerei presses the linseed oil from organic linseed from his own fields in Fehraltorf very fresh and with a water-cooled press in raw food quality at 28-32°C - feel the difference. It is not filtered, but left to cool for 1 day so that the lees can settle. The linseed oil is then bottled, taken to the warehouse and dispatched on the same day. There may be a small amount of sediment (slightly darker in colour) at the bottom of the bottles. This can be consumed without hesitation. Why is linseed oil so healthy? With approx. 50% alpha-linolenic acid/omega 3, linseed oil is one of the most potent suppliers of this important fatty acid. Just 1 tablespoon of linseed oil covers the daily requirement of 2g alpha-linolenic acid for an adult. Omega-3 fatty acids are of great importance for our metabolism. They are important building blocks of our cell membranes, have an anti-inflammatory effect, protect the cells against premature ageing and strengthen our immune defences. You can find more interesting information about omega-3 fatty acids in our health guide. Food & for skin care: How to use linseed oil? Fresh linseed oil is a real delicacy! Linseed oil goes perfectly with cold and warm dishes such as salads, potatoes and muesli. It can also be enjoyed pure (1 tablespoon a day). Linseed oil is also suitable for external use on very dry skin. Recipes with linseed oil for inspiration We have been enthusiastic linseed oil consumers ourselves for many years, which is why we are happy to list our favourite recipes here for your inspiration: Raw almond milk with a fresh apple and linseed oil Budwig cream muesli (based on low-fat quark and linseed oil) Goldenmilk with linseed oil Chia pudding with linseed oil Apple and cinnamon porridge with linseed oil Wholemeal bread with cottage cheese, linseed oil and sprouts Vegan mayonnaise with almond butter and linseed oil Gschwellti (jacket potatoes) with linseed oil Potato salad with linseed oil Tomato and onion salad with basil and linseed oil Experiment: Drizzle linseed oil and a little salt over half an avocado. What is your favourite linseed oil recipe? Let us know and we'll be happy to add it to the list. Freshly pressed linseed oil only for pre-orders Due to its sensitivity to heat and short shelf life, we do not keep linseed oil in stock, but only accept pre-orders from September to June, which are then dispatched once a month. During the warmer months, the oil is dispatched with cooling pads. Order process for freshly pressed linseed oil from Swiss linseed To pre-order linseed oil, simply buy it online, send us an email to info@samaranatura.ch or give us a call on 044 586 27 27. On Monday morning, we place our order with Jakob Bachofner from the Oelerei. He presses the linseed oil on Monday. The freshly pressed organic linseed oil then has to rest for a day in the cold store for sedimentation (reduction of the lees). On Wednesday morning, it is bottled and I immediately take the bottles to my social logistician in Wetzikon. He will dispatch all orders (linseed oil with any other items ordered) on Wednesday with Post Pack Priority (without CHF 2 surcharge), so that you should receive your order on Thursday of the same week. Order deadlines autumn/winter/spring 2024/2025 Sunday 23.02.2025Sunday 09.03.2025Sunday 13.04.2025Sunday 18.05.2025Sunday 15.06.2025 Shelf life Minimum shelf life after pressing is 3 months. Please always store the linseed oil in the refrigerator, even before opening the bottle for the first time. This slows down the very rapid oxidation of linseed oil. Our linseed oil is specially bottled in dark purple miron glass to protect it from sunlight and the associated premature oxidation. There are 2 ways to further extend the shelf life: Very modern refrigerators sometimes have a 0-degree zone. Stored there, the linseed oil will keep for about a month longer or you can also freeze it, which extends the shelf life to 6 months. Once opened, the bottle should be consumed within 3-4 weeks. Important notes Linseed oil and camelina oil are not the same thing. While linseed oil is pressed from linseed, camelina oil comes from camelina. Camelina oil has a longer shelf life, but at approx. 35% has a lower alpha-linolenic acid/omega 3 content. Cold-pressed oils (except coconut oil) are sensitive to heat and are therefore mainly suitable for cold cooking. Toxic compounds can form when heated to high temperatures, e.g. frying. Change of bottles Due to the massive price increase of the Mironglas (approx. 40%) and the new closure system with plastic ball, Jakob Bachofner has been looking for alternatives. For the standard edible oil glass bottles, it would have been necessary to purchase a capping machine, which would not have been proportionate for the small quantities produced by the Oelerei in Fehraltorf. Now a BPA-free tinplate bottle in a black matt design from Germany has become the best alternative, see picture above left. The advantages over glass are the lower weight and lower energy consumption in production. In addition, the risk of breakage is significantly lower, which is why less stuffing material is required for shipping. Tinplate has a high recycling rate as it is collected together with aluminium at all material collection points. All other packaging options would have resulted in price increases. We are pleased that we are able to offer linseed oil at the existing prices at a time when almost everything is becoming more expensive. The new 500ml bottles will be introduced in December. With the December pressing, we will also be offering 250ml bottles for CHF 20. This size was requested several times and should be a good compromise between 100ml and 500ml. There are currently still enough of the 100ml Mironglas bottles in stock, which is why the changeover will not take place until spring 2024. Depending on the seed, it contains 10-30% linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid) and 40-70% alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3 fatty acid), which can be converted by the body into DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). Origin Switzerland, chilled pressed by Jakob Bachofner in Fehraltorf with linseed from his own fields in Fehraltorf ZH. Further use of the Miron bottles In principle, the bottles made from the valuable Miron glass can be rinsed out and reused as desired. We recommend leaving the labels on, as they do not come off easily even after a wash in the dishwasher or with petrol. The labels are not water-soluble because the bottles are stored in the refrigerator. Condensation forms when they are removed, which would then remove the label. In addition, a paper label would quickly look dirty if a drop of oil ran down it. According to feedback from the producer, the best way to remove the labels is with orange oil. Local producer Jakob Bachofner from Oelerei in Fehraltorf has been pressing our linseed oil once a month since summer 2021. In addition to the excellent quality, we appreciate the short distance of just 10 kilometres between the oil production facility and our warehouse in Wetzikon. This enables us to send you the linseed oil on the day of bottling (Wednesdays). It couldn't be quicker, unless you select "Pick up at warehouse" as the dispatch method and collect the linseed oil from the warehouse in person on Wednesday afternoons from 3.30 pm. Jakob "Köbi" Bachofner produces all oils with a water-cooled oil mill, certified organic according to the Swiss Organic Farming Ordinance CH-BIO-086. Walnut oil organic

Cold-pressed organic tree nut oil from Swiss tree nuts Strong, majestic tree nut trees spoil us with tree nuts every autumn in the Swiss Seeland. Local farmers collect the wild-grown nuts by hand and bring them to our nutcracker. We process the raw, cracked tree nuts in our factory in Uetendorf. Our water-cooled oil mill ensures that there is no heat build-up during the pressing process and that the temperature of the oil always remains below 37°C. We then allow the unfiltered oil to sediment. This produces our particularly high-quality, cold-pressed tree nut oil with an excellent nutrient content. It provides you with polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamins. And the aromatic oil enriches every dish with its mild, nutty, delicate flavour; from starters to main courses and desserts. Use Tree nut oil tastes wonderfully aromatic with a mild, nutty, delicate flavour. This oil is a delicious culinary enrichment. It adds flavour to salads, vegetables and desserts, for example, and also enhances hot dishes. Add the oil after cooking to preserve the flavour and valuable ingredients. With a drop or two of the tree nut oil, your dishes will turn into. Note: Store in the refrigerator. Tree nut oil is also suitable for skin care. It has a regenerating effect and smoothes the skin. Why is tree nut oil healthy? With its 72% linolenic acid content, our tree nut oil is particularly rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. These essential unsaturated fatty acids are particularly important for our organism and are part of a healthy, balanced diet. Thanks to its high content of omega-3 fatty acids, our tree nut oil can also help to maintain a normal blood cholesterol level. Tree nuts also contain lecithin, choline, vitamins B1, B2, B6 and vitamin E, which can help protect our cells from oxidative stress. Why not heat tree nut oil? Cold-pressed oils (except coconut oil) are sensitive to heat and are therefore mainly suitable for cold cooking. Toxic compounds can be formed when heated to high temperatures, e.g. frying. Sprouted tree nuts - better digestible The Swiss organic tree nuts are soaked and sprouted in the Naturkostbar manufactory for several hours. They are then dried for 24 hours at a maximum temperature of 42° C. Germination neutralises the phytic acid present in the tree nuts and significantly increases the nutrient density. In addition, the tree nuts can be digested better, which also improves nutrient absorption. Use of sprouted tree nuts Like normal tree nuts, sprouted tree nuts are suitable as a snack on their own or mixed with dried fruit and cocoa beans to make a delicious trail mix.
