Why consume yellow maca powder?

Maca increases our energy levels. Maca makes us feel energised, grounded and happy. Maca also has a pleasant, malty flavour and can be used in many different ways.

The root vegetable has been a staple food of the indigenous peoples of the Andes for thousands of years and is an excellent source of energy and stamina. Its content of biologically utilisable protein is approx. 11% in the dried root.

For legal reasons (Swiss Foodstuffs Ordinance), as a food retailer we are not permitted to make any statements about possible effects. Do your own research on maca on the Internet. We find Dr Schweikart 's website very informative. The different varieties are also described there.

What makes our yellow maca powder special and where is it produced?

Our pure yellow maca powder is made from 100% natural maca roots from controlled organic cultivation, produced under strict production standards and quality controls. They all come from altitudes of over 4000 metres above sea level in the Junín region of Peru.

Our suppliers work together with small farmers. In doing so, they create jobs for the local population and advise the small entrepreneurs by offering training and financial support. This is a means of raising the standard of living of small farmers and at the same time increasing their crop yields.

How to use yellow maca powder in everyday life?

Maca has a unique flavour and can be added to many different dishes. Some people find the flavour of maca powder somewhat reminiscent of caramel with a peppery note. Maca powder can be stirred into rice, nut or hemp milk, for example, or simply mixed into muesli. Mix maca powder with water, milk of your choice or add it to juice, smoothies, muesli or raw desserts. Maca is also a good binding agent for soups and therefore a tasty addition. We particularly like maca together with oatmeal and as an ingredient in our raw chocolate recipes. More recipes...

It is advisable to start with a small amount of ½ tsp per day and increase up to 1-2 tbsp per day. Unlike soya products, Mexican yam and linseed, maca does not contain hormones.

Note: A common misconception about superfoods and herbs is that there is a standard amount to consume. In general, the usual recommended daily intake for most superfoods, including maca, is between 1 tsp and 3 tbsp per day, divided into two or three doses. It is best to start with 1 tsp per day and adjust the amount to your personal needs.

Acai Powder Organic
Açai powder (100% natural): Pure energy from the Amazon Why consume açai powder? The nutrients contained in açai are a wonderful mixture of antioxidants, omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids, vitamins and proteins. Açai is also very popular with athletes because the berry contains 19 amino acids that stimulate muscle activity, provide strength and long-lasting energy. A diet rich in antioxidants helps to slow down the ageing process. In Brazil, açai has been a popular fruit for many years, used as a fruit puree, in drinks, ice creams and smoothies. The natives of the rainforest have been consuming açai for thousands of years. What makes our açai powder special? Our açai powder from Brazil is 100% natural, without fillers or chemicals. Due to the high fat content of the berries, long transport routes are impossible without a process to increase the shelf life of the fruit. This is why the berries are freeze-dried shortly after harvesting and then gently ground into a fine powder at a low temperature. The ingredients are thus preserved as far as possible. Many of the açai powders available on the market are not pure, i.e. they are mixed with fillers that reduce their nutritional value. The stronger the violet colour of the powder, the more concentrated and pure it is. The colour is therefore a good indicator of the quality of the product. Our açai powder is made from 100% açai berries, without fillers and has a dark purple colour. What does our açai powder taste like? Açai powder tastes delicious: a delicious, unusual flavour! The excellent combination of omega fatty acids and the sustained energy it provides makes açai powder indispensable for us. Where is açai powder made? Açai is a berry with a beautiful intense purple colour that grows in the Brazilian rainforest on tall palm trees along the Amazon. A true gift from Mother Nature! The dark purple colour comes from special pigments called anthocyanins, which are powerful antioxidants. Tips for use This miracle berry can be wonderfully integrated into your daily diet. Açai powder goes well with desserts, many drinks, smoothies, yoghurt and sprinkled on muesli. It tastes great in homemade chocolate and ice cream. Cacao powder Peru organic
Low-fat cocoa powder with 10-12% cocoa butter content (100% natural) Update:Due to the cocoa shortage, we do not receive 100% Criollo powder from our supplier. The new batch contains 70% Criollo cocoa (previously 100%). The remaining 30% are Forastero, Trinitario and Nacional. They are also high quality, certified organic and from Peru. This is whyour cocoa powder is temporarily called "Cocoa Powder Peru". In comparison, it has a slightly more intense flavour and is slightly bitter, but also very tasty. Why cocoa powder? Cocoa has all the benefits of chocolate, but without the undesirable high sugar content and additives. As a reminder: milk chocolate only has a cocoa content of around 25%. The rest is sugar, milk powder, soya lecithin (emulsifier) and flavourings. Effect of cocoa? Raw cocoa is very nutritious. It has been determined that raw cocoa contains around 300 substances. It also contains the happiness combination of serotonin, dopamine, anandamide and phenetylamine (PEA). Cocoa has the highest magnesium content of all foods, i.e. 314mg per 100g, which corresponds to 75% of the recommended daily intake. Magnesium is a component of bones and teeth, plays an important role in energy metabolism and is essential for normal muscle function and energy metabolism. Magnesium also plays a role in skeletal development and is important in the transmission of stimuli in the nervous system during muscle contraction. Origin of our cocoa powder? Our raw cocoa powder comes mainly from the Peruvian fine cocoa variety Criollo - one of the best fine cocoa varieties in the world - and has a delicious, full chocolate flavour. What makes our cocoa powder special? The Criollo variety tastes better and is less bitter than other cocoa varieties. This also reduces the need to balance out the bitter flavour with sweeteners. It is obtained from unroasted, merely fermented cocoa beans. Gentle processing at low temperatures optimally preserves both nutrients and flavour. Gentle processing for maximum flavour To produce the powder, the fermented, unroasted fine flavoured cocoa beans are first ground. The resulting dark brown, viscous cocoa mass is cold-pressed to form a cake, from which the liquid, golden yellow cocoa butter slowly drains off. The remaining "cocoa press cake" is then dried, very finely ground and sieved. This process does not require any chemicals, additives or extraction solvents and produces a fine, soft powder with a full, wonderful chocolate flavour. The use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers is also completely avoided. Food with a long tradition The cocoa bean is an impressive foodstuff given to us by Mother Nature. It was considered a gift from God by the Aztecs and was used not only as an offering but also as a means of payment. Tips for everyday use Mix cocoa powder into your muesli, smoothies, (hot) milk drinks and protein shakes. And of course, this cocoa powder is an excellent ingredient for delicious chocolate creations and desserts. Size variants We offer cocoa powder in 250g, 500g and 1kg bags as standard. Do you need large quantities? We are also happy to fill 5kg or 10kg bags on request. Lucuma Powder Organic
Organic lucuma powder - heavenly delicious fruit powder What is lucuma powder? Lucuma (Pouteria lucuma), the "sweet gold of the Incas", is a subtropical, exotic fruit from South America that has long been revered by the ancient Andean culture. Why buy lucuma powder? Healthy fruit sweetness with a low glycaemic index Particularly rich in beta-carotene, iron, vitamin B1 and B2 Versatile ingredient for cakes, desserts and ice creams Ever since we got to know Lucuma powder, it has been one of our favourite foods. The healthy fruit sweetness with a low glycaemic index is particularly rich in beta-carotene, iron, vitamin B1 and B2. Its biscuit-like sweetness makes it a favourite in (raw) cakes, desserts and chocolates. We like to add it to our creams and ice creams and as a gourmet ingredient to all sweets - the wonderful flavour and biscuit-like sweetness of lucuma powder enhances every dessert. In Peru, the yellowish-orange fruit is the most popular flavour in ice cream. What makes our lucuma powder special? Free from pesticides and agrochemicals Raw food quality Gentle processing Best flavour Lucuma from SamaraNatura is free from pesticides and agrochemicals. The lucuma pulp is dried in a solar drying plant at low temperatures in accordance with raw food quality standards, then gently ground and sieved. Although lucuma also grows in other tropical regions, the flavour of the fruit that grows in the Peruvian highlands is rated even better. This is where our lucuma powder comes from. The beautiful, dark yellow powder has a flavour reminiscent of maple syrup and cashews. Tips for use Lucuma powder is an extremely versatile and tasty ingredient that works well in ice creams, baby food, yoghurts, cakes, chocolate and desserts and can be used for lucuma mousse, pudding or parfait. It is ideal as a sweet flour for pies, cakes and pastries and tastes delicious in smoothies, nut milks and other drinks. The powder produces a rich, creamy consistency and transforms your raw food creations into a heavenly gourmet treat! We mostly use it in sweet dishes, but we have been told that it also tastes great in savoury dishes. Just like maca, lucuma helps to combine and emulsify fats and oils with sugar and polysaccharides. For example, lucuma is ideal as an ingredient for a dish or drink with cocoa nibs (50% fat) and yacon root syrup (polysaccharides). It combines cocoa and yacon in flavour and consistency. Carob powder organic
Carob powder - from the pods of the carob tree Carob is a legume that grows on the carob tree, a wild, evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean, and has been used as a sweetener and nutritious natural snack for thousands of years. Carob was well known to the ancient Greeks, who spread the seeds of this plant in Greece and Italy. Why consume carob powder? People who don't know much about carob think it's a healthy version of (high-sugar, high-fat) chocolate, but it's so much more. We like to mix carob with raw cocoa for a sweet and healthy treat, because cocoa has a lot of magnesium and compared to cocoa, carob contains three times as much calcium, a third less calories and only 1% fat. Carob is naturally sweet and fewer sweeteners are needed when it is used in recipes. It has a low glycaemic index, is low in fat and exceptionally nutritious, rich in calcium, protein and fibre. What makes our carob powder special? Our organic carob powder from Spain is gently heated and ground for drying in order to preserve its flavour, colour and nutrients. Due to the drying process at well over 42° C, it is no longer raw food. Due to the different requirements, we offer carob powder in 2 different sizes: 250g and 500g. These can be selected at the top right under "Weight variants". Using carob in everyday life and for great recipes Use carob powder to sweeten dishes, in desserts, smoothies, sprinkled on your muesli, as an ingredient in raw chocolate and cakes as well as in quick and nutritious snacks. Tip: Hemp protein squares with carob and goji berries. This can be helpful for people with diabetes or other blood sugar problems.People with digestive problems: Mesquite is rich in fibre, which can aid digestion and prevent constipation. Agave Syrup Organic
Premium agave syrup in raw food quality What is agave? The agave is a cactus-like plant from Mexico. Agave syrup is a delicious sweetener obtained from the sap inside the agave plant, which is at least eight years old. Traditionally, Mexicans collected the sweet sap ("aguamiel") from various agaves to make sweeteners and special drinks for celebrations. Why buy agave syrup? Agave syrup is a vegan alternative to honey and has a pleasant flavour, like a mixture of honey and maple syrup. It can be used as a versatile sweetener. Only very gently processed agave syrup like ours has a low glycaemic index and is only absorbed slowly into the bloodstream. It is therefore particularly recommended for people with sugar sensitivities. What makes our agave syrup special? Most conventional agave syrups, often also those from organic cultivation, are made from 3-6 different types of agave and have been heated and pasteurised, as the agave juice spoils quickly after it has been extracted The healthier polysaccharides (mainly in the form of inulin) are converted into simple sugars. They have thus lost a large proportion of their nutrients! Our agave syrup is obtained exclusively from the Salmiana agave, is processed very gently and at low temperatures and is therefore of the best quality available on the market. No pesticides or other agrochemicals are used in cultivation. The thick juice is produced in special vacuum containers in which the water it contains is vaporised at very low temperatures. The valuable vitamins, minerals and enzymes are thus largely preserved and made available to our bodies. Because our agave syrup is 100% natural, it has a stronger flavour and a darker colour than commercially available thick juices. How to use it in your daily diet? Agave syrup is characterised by a high, neutral sweetening power. It enhances the flavour and is easily soluble in hot and cold food and drinks. It is ideal for baked goods and, due to its low tendency to crystallise, for making jams and jellies. Yacon Syrup Organic
Organic Yacon Syrup - Delicious, prebiotic sweetener Yacon is grown in the high mountain valleys of the Andes and has a dense root system that is bursting with minerals, vitamins and complex vital substances. The freshly squeezed juice of the root is a gift of nature and has been savoured by the Andean peoples for centuries. Why consume yacon syrup? An ideal sweetener for the health-conscious, diet-conscious and diabetics. The special thing about yacon is the quality of its sugar, which is predominantly in the form of oligofructose (or fructooligosaccharides). Oligofructose cannot be utilised by the digestive enzymes and therefore causes hardly any calories and is gentle on the blood sugar level. Yacon tastes delicious and has half the calories of honey, for example. Yacon syrup is also significantly less glycaemic than honey, agave syrup or maple syrup. The oligofructose in yacon also supports the beneficial bacteria in the large intestine and thus improves the digestion and absorption of nutrients. The indigestible sugar thus serves as prebiotic food for the beneficial bacteria. What makes our yacon syrup special? Our yacon syrup comes from traditional varieties from the Peruvian Andes and is 100% natural, grown without pesticides or agrochemicals. It is produced at low temperatures, which guarantees that the syrup retains a very high quality of nutrients and enzymes. This yacon syrup is thickened from yacon juice in a special low-pressure process at low temperatures of 45°C. As yacon syrup can only be kept for a relatively short time without pasteurisation and additives, it is pasteurised at 70°C for 3 minutes. Our yacon syrup is therefore not raw, but is processed very gently, which means that the valuable nutrients and enzymes of the root are largely preserved. How to use yacon syrup? Yacon syrup is a versatile sweetener. It can be used to sweeten desserts, drinks and smoothies. For salad dressings, we like to mix the syrup with vinegar as a substitute for balsamic vinegar, which usually contains a lot of sugar. The sweetening power of the syrup is less than that of sugar, honey or agave syrup. To support a healthy intestinal flora, 1 teaspoon a day is sufficient. For a longer shelf life, we recommend storing the yacon syrup in the fridge. Moringa powder organic
Organic Moringa powder - the super powder from the subtropics Update: Naturkostbar has discontinued the Moringa powder, which is why we have now bought a batch from our supplier. The current batch comes from Egypt. For this high-quality moringa powder, the organic moringa leaves are harvested by hand and dried in special dehydration rooms, protected from the sun and under the best hygienic conditions, at temperatures below 40° C. The leaves are then turned into leaf powder. The leaves are then crushed and processed into leaf powder. Vanilla powder Bourbon organic Naturkostbar
Real Bourbon vanilla powder from Madagascar Vanilla is the fruit of a white orchid species that is originally native to Mexico and has spread to many tropical countries over the course of time. Vanilla is now one of the most sought-after spices and is also known as the "queen of spices". The cultivation and processing of vanilla has always been labour-intensive, as much of the work has to be done by hand. In addition, the available areas are limited and demand is constantly increasing. As a result, vanilla is now one of the most expensive spices in the world. Genuine bourbon vanilla powder from Madagascar has unfortunately become a rarity due to severe flooding in Madagascar in 2016 and 2017, which resulted in major crop failures and long-term damage to crops. You can find more information on this in the NZZ online article. While the much cheaper synthetically produced vanillin consists of just one substance, the special flavour of real vanilla is a harmonious composition of almost 200 individual substances! Real vanilla therefore not only has a unique flavour and seductive aroma, it is also healthy. It has been regarded and cultivated by the peoples of Central America for centuries as a remarkable gift of nature, and the pharmacies of the 18th century stocked it as a health remedy in the form of powder, infusion and tincture. Uses With its unique spectrum of flavours, it can be used in a variety of ways for all sweet dishes, such as dessert sauces, ice cream, smoothies, pastries, compotes, jams, homemade chocolate and fruit bars. Also delicious in drinks such as cocoa, nut milk and herbal teas. Origin Grown and processed in Madagascar. Maca Max yellow powder organic
Maca Max yellow - easier to digest and absorb (100% natural) Update: Unfortunately, we have not received any more Maca Max from our Maca supplier. A direct import from Peru is not worthwhile due to the high freight costs. If we cannot find a suitable alternative supplier, we will have to discontinue Maca Max. In the meantime, we recommend the yellow raw food Maca powder as an alternative. Why consume yellow Maca Max powder? Maca increases our energy levels. Maca makes us feel energised, grounded and cheerful. Maca also has a pleasant, malty flavour and can be used in many different ways. Maca root has been a staple food of the indigenous peoples of the Andes for thousands of years and is an excellent source of energy and stamina. In addition to the Maca Max described here, our range currently also includes yellow, red and black Maca, which are of raw food quality. Why Maca Max? Maca Max is made from 100% Maca by converting the starch contained in the Maca powder through heating, making it easier to digest and absorb. This process is known as "gelatinisation", but has nothing to do with gelatine from bones. Anyone who reacts to our raw Maca powder with flatulence can use Maca Max as an alternative. What makes our yellow Maca Max powder special and where is it produced? Our maca powder is made from 100% natural maca roots from pesticide- and agrochemical-free cultivation, produced under strict production standards and quality controls. The powder comes from selected dry roots and is produced using a special production process to convert the starch and make maca easier to digest. Our suppliers work together with small farmers. In doing so, they create jobs for the local population and advise small entrepreneurs by offering training and financial support. This is a means of raising the standard of living of small farmers and at the same time increasing their harvest yields. How to use yellow Maca Max powder in everyday life? Note: A common misconception about superfoods and herbs is that there is a standard usage amount. In general, the usual recommended daily intake for most superfoods, including maca, is between 1 tsp and 3 tbsp per day, divided into two or three doses. It is best to start with 1 tsp per day and adjust the amount to your personal needs. Suma Powder
Suma - Brazilian ginseng(Pfaffia paniculata) | 100% natural Update: Sale of the current batch with best before date 30.04.2025 with 38% discount for CHF 11.- instead of 17.80. The Suma powder is still perfectly edible for several months afterwards. Suma root is also known as "Brazilian ginseng" due to its adaptogenic properties, but it does not belong to the ginseng family, but to the foxtail family. Why consume suma? Suma contains a range of nutrients, including 19 amino acids, vitamins A, B1, B2, E, K, pantothenic acid, iron, silicon, magnesium, zinc and antioxidant saponins. Its relatively high content of germanium, a powerful antioxidant that can scavenge free radicals and highly reactive oxygen compounds at the cellular level, is important. Antioxidants are important for cell maintenance and function. Suma is known to improve the oxygen supply and energy efficiency of cells and to promote performance and endurance. For example, Russian Olympic athletes take suma to build muscle and increase their stamina without the negative effects of steroids. Known in Brazil as "para tudo" (for everything), suma has been used by the inhabitants of the Amazon for hundreds of years and is traditionally used to boost sexual vigour and increase the body's energy levels. Recommendations for use You can mix suma powder into smoothies, fruit juices and milk drinks or use it as an ingredient in muesli, homemade chocolate and other dishes. We recommend starting with half a teaspoon and increasing to a level teaspoon per day after a week. Due to its special adaptogenic properties, Suma should only be taken when needed and not over a longer period of time. We recommend a maximum of 1 month and then a break of at least 1 month. How to use red maca powder? Maca has a unique flavour that not all first-time users like the same. We find it malty, earthy and slightly sweet or sometimes a little nutty. Mix the maca powder with water, (nut) milk of your choice or as a supplementary ingredient. The flavour spectrum is perfect for smoothies, muesli or desserts.
