Xylitol birch sugar

Product information "Xylitol birch sugar"

Xylitol birch sugar from Finnish birch and beech wood

Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol, which however has nothing to do with ordinary alcohol. Xylitol serves as a sugar substitute for sweetening drinks and food as well as for preventing plaque and tooth decay.

Cheap xylitol is mostly made from glucose from corn - often also from genetically modified corn. In contrast, high-quality xylitol is produced in a complex process by the hydrogenation of wood sugar (xylose). Since birch bark is traditionally used in Finland, the name birch sugar has become common. Our xylitol is made from Finnish birch and beech wood.

Why we like Xylitol

We've tried a range of natural sweeteners over the years, and after discovering Xylitol, it's one of our favorite sweeteners.

Xylitol has the same color and sweetness as white sugar and has no taste of its own, such as coconut blossom sugar.

In addition, the birch sugar is good for the teeth, contains 40% less calories compared to ordinary granulated sugar and has a low glycemic index.

Disadvantages are the much higher price. In addition, birch sugar, when consumed excessively, has a laxative effect and is toxic to dogs (see security alert).

Our Xylitol Birch sugar from Tautona

Tautona Xylit is of very high quality and is obtained from birch and beech wood from Finland. It is a 100% pure, white, granular product (like granulated sugar).

Due to the birch bark process, xylitol is not a raw food product.

Use

Xylitol looks and tastes like sugar. It is used 1: 1 like regular sugar, for example in hot and cold drinks, cakes and desserts. Since yeast xylitol can not metabolise, it is not suitable for yeast baked goods.

For home-made chocolate and raw cakes, it is advisable to grind the crystals to a powder (with blender or coffee grinder), thus achieving a more even result.

Xylitol belongs to the class of sugar alcohols, which can be laxative when consumed excessively. To avoid bloating and diarrhea, start with a small amount of about 1 tbsp a day to allow the body to adjust.

Security Alert

Xylitol is toxic to dogs because it causes them to rapidly lose their blood sugar and seizures. This is not unusual, because other foods for humans are toxic to dogs. Cats do not appear to be affected by xylitol.

Lucuma Powder Organic
Organic lucuma powder - heavenly delicious fruit powder What is lucuma powder? Lucuma (Pouteria lucuma), the "sweet gold of the Incas", is a subtropical, exotic fruit from South America that has long been revered by the ancient Andean culture. Why buy lucuma powder? Healthy fruit sweetness with a low glycaemic index Particularly rich in beta-carotene, iron, vitamin B1 and B2 Versatile ingredient for cakes, desserts and ice creams Ever since we got to know Lucuma powder, it has been one of our favourite foods. The healthy fruit sweetness with a low glycaemic index is particularly rich in beta-carotene, iron, vitamin B1 and B2. Its biscuit-like sweetness makes it a favourite in (raw) cakes, desserts and chocolates. We like to add it to our creams and ice creams and as a gourmet ingredient to all sweets - the wonderful flavour and biscuit-like sweetness of lucuma powder enhances every dessert. In Peru, the yellowish-orange fruit is the most popular flavour in ice cream. What makes our lucuma powder special? Free from pesticides and agrochemicals Raw food quality Gentle processing Best flavour Lucuma from SamaraNatura is free from pesticides and agrochemicals. The lucuma pulp is dried in a solar drying plant at low temperatures in accordance with raw food quality standards, then gently ground and sieved. Although lucuma also grows in other tropical regions, the flavour of the fruit that grows in the Peruvian highlands is rated even better. This is where our lucuma powder comes from. The beautiful, dark yellow powder has a flavour reminiscent of maple syrup and cashews. Tips for use Lucuma powder is an extremely versatile and tasty ingredient that works well in ice creams, baby food, yoghurts, cakes, chocolate and desserts and can be used for lucuma mousse, pudding or parfait. It is ideal as a sweet flour for pies, cakes and pastries and tastes delicious in smoothies, nut milks and other drinks. The powder produces a rich, creamy consistency and transforms your raw food creations into a heavenly gourmet treat! We mostly use it in sweet dishes, but we have been told that it also tastes great in savoury dishes. Just like maca, lucuma helps to combine and emulsify fats and oils with sugar and polysaccharides. For example, lucuma is ideal as an ingredient for a dish or drink with cocoa nibs (50% fat) and yacon root syrup (polysaccharides). It combines cocoa and yacon in flavour and consistency. Carob powder organic
Carob powder - from the pods of the carob tree Carob is a legume that grows on the carob tree, a wild, evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean, and has been used as a sweetener and nutritious natural snack for thousands of years. Carob was well known to the ancient Greeks, who spread the seeds of this plant in Greece and Italy. Why consume carob powder? People who don't know much about carob think it's a healthy version of (high-sugar, high-fat) chocolate, but it's so much more. We like to mix carob with raw cocoa for a sweet and healthy treat, because cocoa has a lot of magnesium and compared to cocoa, carob contains three times as much calcium, a third less calories and only 1% fat. Carob is naturally sweet and fewer sweeteners are needed when it is used in recipes. It has a low glycaemic index, is low in fat and exceptionally nutritious, rich in calcium, protein and fibre. What makes our carob powder special? Our organic carob powder from Spain is gently heated and ground for drying in order to preserve its flavour, colour and nutrients. Due to the drying process at well over 42° C, it is no longer raw food. Due to the different requirements, we offer carob powder in 2 different sizes: 250g and 500g. These can be selected at the top right under "Weight variants". Using carob in everyday life and for great recipes Use carob powder to sweeten dishes, in desserts, smoothies, sprinkled on your muesli, as an ingredient in raw chocolate and cakes as well as in quick and nutritious snacks. Tip: Hemp protein squares with carob and goji berries. Mesquite powder organic
Mesquite powder - sweetener from the desert Mesquite was a traditional staple food of the indigenous people of the arid regions of North and South America. Today, mesquite powder is being rediscovered as a nutritious and tasty food and used all over the world. Mesquite has the sweet, wild taste of the desert with a hint of caramel and is versatile. Mesquite has a protein content of approx. 14% and is rich in calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc and the amino acid lysine, which is rarely found in a grain-heavy diet. Mesquite is 25% fiber and has a low glycemic index. Mesquite flour is naturally gluten-free. Why We Love Mesquite Powder Mesquite has a sweet, malty taste that is similar to carob, but with a caramel flavor. The full-bodied taste and aroma goes well with vanilla and chocolate and it gives sweet treats a delicious maltiness. Mesquite can be mixed with nut milk, is an excellent ingredient in smoothies and is delicious sprinkled on ice cream. An exquisite malty chocolate can be made with it, and mesquite can also be used as a partial aromatic substitute for flour. It is a wonderful food to experiment with SamaraNatura organic mesquite powder Our mesquite powder is made from the whole pods of the mesquite tree, which are gently dried and then processed into a flour or powder. Since there is no guarantee that the temperature will always remain below 42°C during drying, we refrain from using the term raw food quality. How to use Mesquite is a delicious ingredient for cakes, desserts, smoothies, ice cream and homemade bread. It tastes particularly good in combination with cocoa and maca. Agave Syrup Organic
Premium agave syrup in raw food quality What is agave? The agave is a cactus-like plant from Mexico. Agave syrup is a delicious sweetener made from the juice inside agaves that are at least eight years old. The Mexicans traditionally collected the sweet juice ("aguamiel") from various agaves in order to make sweeteners and special drinks for celebrations. Why buy agave syrup? Agave syrup is a vegan alternative to honey and has a pleasant taste, like a mixture of honey and maple syrup. It can be used in many ways as a sweetener. Only the very gently processed agave syrup like ours has a low glycemic index and is only slowly absorbed into the bloodstream. It is therefore particularly recommended for people who are sensitive to sugar. What makes our agave syrup special? Most conventional agave syrups, including those from organic farming, are made from 3-6 different agave species and have been heated up and pasteurized, as the juice of the agave spoils quickly after it has been removed. The contained healthier multiple sugars (polysaccharides, mainly in the form of inulin) are converted into simple sugars. They have lost a large part of their nutrients! Our agave syrup is obtained exclusively from the Salmiana agave, is processed very gently and at low temperatures and is therefore of the best quality available on the market. No pesticides or other agrochemicals are used in cultivation. The syrup is produced in special vacuum containers in which the water it contains evaporates at very low temperatures. The valuable vitamins, minerals and enzymes are largely preserved and available for our body. Because our agave syrup is 100% natural, it has a stronger taste and a darker color than commercially available concentrated juices. How to use in the daily diet? Agave syrup is characterized by a high, neutral sweetness. It enhances the aroma and is easily soluble in cold and warm dishes and drinks. Ideally suited for baked goods and due to the low tendency to crystallize for the production of jams and jellies. Yacon Syrup Organic
Yacon Syrup Organic - Delicious, prebiotic sweetener Yacon is grown in the high mountain valleys of the Andes and has a dense root system that is full of minerals, vitamins and complex vital substances. The freshly squeezed juice of the root is a gift from nature and has been enjoyed by the Andean peoples for centuries. The special thing about Yacon is the quality of its sugar, which is mainly in the form of oligofructose (or fructooligosaccharides). Oligofructose cannot be used by the digestive enzymes and therefore hardly causes any calories and protects the blood sugar level. In addition, as a prebiotic, oligofructose supports a healthy intestinal flora. An ideal sweetener for diabetics, health-conscious and diet-conscious people alike. Why we love Yacon Syrup Yacon tastes delicious and has half as many calories as honey, for example. And on top of that, its sugar hardly increases the blood sugar level and avoids strenuous blood sugar highs and lows. Yacon syrup is also significantly less glycemic than honey, agave or maple syrup. The oligofructose in Yacon also supports the beneficial bacteria in the colon, thereby improving digestion and absorption of nutrients. The indigestible sugar thus serves the beneficial bacteria as prebiotic food. SamaraNatura Yacon Syrup Our yacon syrup comes from traditional varieties from the Peruvian Andes and is 100% natural, grown without pesticides and agrochemicals. It is produced at low temperatures, which guarantees that the syrup retains a very high quality of nutrients and enzymes. This yacon syrup is thickened from yacon juice in a special vacuum process at low temperatures of 45°C. Since this yacon syrup can only be kept for a relatively short time without pasteurization, it is pasteurized at 70°C for 3 minutes. The syrup is therefore not raw food, but processed very gently, which means that the valuable nutrients and enzymes in the roots are largely retained. How to use Yacon syrup can be used in many ways as a sweetener. It can be used to sweeten desserts, drinks and smoothies. For salad dressings, we like to mix the syrup with vinegar, as a substitute for balsamic vinegar, which usually contains a lot of sugar. The sweetness of the syrup is less strong than the sweetness of sugar, honey or agave syrup. To support a healthy intestinal flora, 1 teaspoon is sufficient daily. For a better shelf life, we recommend storing the yacon syrup in the refrigerator. Coconut blossom sugar organic
Coconut blossom sugar 100% natural in high fineness The sugar with a caramel flavour Coconut blossom sugar has a wonderful, caramel-like flavour and is obtained from the flower nectar of coconut palms. It is a better, mineral-rich alternative to cane sugar, containing lots of potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. It is also a good source of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and C and amino acids (especially glutamic acid). Its low glycaemic index (GI=35) ensures a slow release of energy. Coconut blossom sugar is therefore a sweetener suitable for everyone. Our organic coconut sugar consists of 100% coconut nectar from the palm species Coco Nucifera. A suitable sweetener for the health-conscious consumer. Why buy coconut blossom sugar? SamaraNatura coconut blossom sugar tastes similar to brown sugar, but better! It has a rich, sugary-sweet caramel flavour and many chefs appreciate how coconut sugar enhances their culinary dishes and makes them tastier. Compared to other sweeteners, coconut blossom sugar has a much lower glycaemic index. This means that it releases its energy more slowly and avoids the usual sugar highs and lows of normal sugar in the body. What we particularly appreciate is that this sweetener is one of the few truly sustainable foods in the world! In terms of humanity, the environment and health, coconut blossom sugar has extraordinary benefits in every respect. It lifts communities out of poverty, provides much-needed nutrients to the body in a way that often does the opposite (as a sweetener), and helps preserve fragile tropical rainforests. In fact, it helps restore the ecological balance of degraded areas. What makes our xylitol birch sugar special? Our coconut blossom sugar is 100% natural, organic, unbleached and free from additives and artificial flavourings. It consists only of the nectar of coconut palms and is not mixed with other palm sugars, which would compromise its exquisite quality. Our coconut sugar is a sustainable product and supports local communities and families in Indonesia. Some palm sugars on the market are also blended with cane sugar and other malt-based ingredients. SamaraNatura coconut sugar is pure palm sugar made from 100% coconut nectar from the Coco Nucifera species. Incidentally, coconut palm sugar is not obtained from the palm species used for the production of palm oil. Our granulated coconut palm nectar is not raw, i.e. processed at temperatures above 42°C. We prefer a higher quality and offer sieved coconut blossom sugar with a higher fineness (Mesh 30). This means that the sugar grains are smaller and finer than those of other palm sugar (mesh 18) on the market. Consumption recommendations Coconut blossom sugar melts very easily in hot and cold drinks. The sweetener is delicious in desserts, smoothies and pastries. A small spoonful of our rich coconut sugar is a healthy treat that satisfies cravings and provides instant energy. Coconut sugar can be used like brown sugar in a 1:1 ratio. Xylitol birch sugar: the alternative or supplement to coconut blossom sugar Xylitol is a sugar substitute and has the same sweetening power as white sugar, has no taste of its own, is low in calories (40% fewer calories and 75% fewer carbohydrates) and has a very low glycaemic index (approx. 11 | compared to sugar of approx. 70). It also helps to prevent plaque and tooth decay. Xylitol looks and tastes like sugar and can therefore be used 1:1 like normal sugar, in hot and cold drinks, cakes and desserts.
