Cashewkerne Bio Naturkostbar

Product information "Cashewkerne Bio Naturkostbar"

Organic cashew nuts from Vietnam

These crunchy organic cashews are natural and unroasted. They taste deliciously sweet and nutty and can be used in a variety of ways.

Origin

The farmers in the Vietnamese province of Binh Phuoc grow the cashews in harmony with nature. Thanks to an optimal climate, nutritious soil and careful harvesting, the cashew nuts are of top quality. The kernels are shelled directly on site in a modern facility with high safety standards to protect the employees and imported to Switzerland by Naturkostbar.

The cashews are selected in the Naturkostbar factory. The best kernels are sold and the rest (e.g. opened kernels) are processed into stone-ground cashew butter.

Use

We love these cashews as a snack on their own or mixed with fresh or dried fruit. Sprinkle cashews on salads or use them for cashew milk and many vegan desserts such as pudding and cheesecake.

Tip: Combining cashews with goji berries and/or cocoa nibs creates a very special flavour experience.

Cedarnuts Organic
Cedar nuts from Siberia - a treasure of nature Cedar nuts taste similar to other pine nuts, but slightly sweeter and stronger. Unlike almost all commercially available pine nuts, our raw cedar nuts are not heat-treated. Why eat cedar nuts? Cedar nuts contain approx. 55% valuable unsaturated fatty acids, primarily linoleic and alpha-linolenic acid as well as the rare pinoleic/pinolenic acid. They are rich in tocopherols (vitamin E) as antioxidants and in high-quality proteins (approx. 17%). They also contain many minerals (especially magnesium, potassium, phosphorus), trace elements (copper, manganese, zinc), vitamins (K and B) and flavonoids. For centuries, the inhabitants of Siberia have valued the widespread cedar (Pinus sibirica), a Swiss stone pine, not only as a source of valuable wood, but also for its tasty and highly nutritious seeds, which are found in the cedar cones. What makes our cedar nuts special? Almost all commercially available pine nuts are treated with heat to make them last longer. Our cedar nuts, on the other hand, are completely untreated, which preserves the broad spectrum of nutrients. Where do our cedar nuts come from? They come from the Lake Baikal region in Siberia and are harvested by hand. The Siberian pine is a true treasure of Siberian nature, forming vast areas of unspoilt forests throughout northern Russia. The huge, magnificent trees (up to 40 metres tall) grow slowly and the first cones with seeds only appear when the trees are around 30 years old. They are among the longest-lived tree species in existence, as they can live for 300 to 800 years! The evergreen cedar is a storehouse of cosmic light energy, capturing the energy rays from cosmic space in its millions of needles during its long life. Even thousands of years ago, ancient peoples valued the properties of the cedar tree, which they called "the eternal". The brushwood was used to prepare a vitamin drink, the resin was used to heal wounds and ulcers, and the seeds and their oil helped to survive the long, harsh winters in Siberia. How to use cedar nuts in everyday life? Cedar nuts taste delicious on their own as a snack or together with dried fruit and other nuts, goji berries and cocoa nibs. They can be sprinkled on salads and other dishes or added to mayonnaise, creams and milk. Cedar nuts add a certain elegance to your cooking. Cedar nuts and their oil are also very good for skin care and regeneration. We recommend keeping cedar nuts in the fridge after opening, especially in summer. Customer opinion on the product "I really like cedar nuts. I like to mix them with a little water and then create something sweet or savoury from them. Vegan salad dressing, cheese substitute ... or simply snack on a handful in between." from Mirjam F. High-quality nylon nut milk bag Making your own nut milk is actually quite simple. Hazelnuts, almonds, macadamia nuts, cashews and even sesame or hemp seeds (shelled or unshelled) are suitable. We have a large selection of natural and sprouted nuts in our range. It's best to just try it out - the proof of the pudding is in the eating! Advantages and disadvantages of fresh nut milk Freshly prepared nut milk is not only very tasty, but also a source of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants. As fresh nut milk contains no additives and is not pasteurised, it spoils after just 24 hours in the fridge. We therefore recommend that you only ever make small quantities. Origin of nut milk bag The high-quality Naturkostbar nut milk bag comes from a small business in Arizona. Two friends - Karla and Elaina - developed and sewed the first nut milk bag for their raw food events here in 1999. They simplified the extraction of nut milk, as the dripping and handling with cheesecloth was understandably too cumbersome for them. Karla has been producing the high-quality nut milk bags in her sewing workshop with a lot of love and high quality standards ever since. Elaina's company sells the products. What material is the nut milk bag made of? The nut milk bag is made of nylon. How do I use the nut milk bag? For making nut milk: Soak one to two cups of nuts in fresh water overnight. Soaking produces enzymes (phytases) that break down the phytic acid, making the nuts easier to digest. Pour away the soaking water and rinse the nuts briefly. Blend the nuts with 2-3 cups of fresh water. The more powerful the blender, the better. Drain the blended mixture through the nut milk bag into a pan and squeeze gently. You can dry the fibre remaining in the nut milk bag and process it into nut flour using the blender. Wrap the flour in an airtight container and store it in the fridge. It is suitable as a high-fibre ingredient for cakes, biscuits, crepes, etc.
