Green radish sprouts – sprouting seeds
For anyone who likes things a bit spicier, or just for a change.
A single radish provides an adult’s daily requirement of
Green radish sprouts contain: vitamin C, protein, carotene, several B vitamins, plenty of potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and enzymes.
Radish sprouts also contain a sulphur-containing oil called raphanol, as well as several mustard oil glycosides and bitter compounds, which have an antibiotic effect, stimulate bile production and help loosen mucus in the respiratory tract.

Growing green radish sprouts
Soak 4 heaped tablespoons (3100ml jar) or 3 heaped tablespoons (1700ml jar) of radish seeds for 10 hours. Then rinse them in the morning and evening.
The radish sprouts take 4–5 days to germinate. Consume immediately afterwards. To keep the fully grown sprouts fresh for longer, it is advisable to store them in the fridge. Tip: Place kitchen paper between the sprouts and the Tupperware container.
Uses
Radish sprouts go particularly well with fondue or raclette, as they aid digestion of these rich meals. However, you can also simply eat the sprouts on their own, mix them into salads or use them as a topping for sandwiches.
